Dates for Deontay Wilder to fight Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury to be revealed in two weeks, claim his manager

DEONTAY WILDER’S manager is in talks with Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury and Luis Ortiz's camps regarding blockbuster heavyweight showdowns.
After WBC king Wilder made Dominic Breazeale become the 40th victim of his devastating right hand, talk soon turned to what is next for the 33-year-old.
Both Tyson Fury and promoter Eddie Hearn claimed The Bronze Bomber will rematch Cuban southpaw Ortiz in his next defence.
However, SunSport spoke exclusively with Shelly Finkel, Wilder’s co-manager, who denies the Ortiz rematch has been finalised.
The veteran boxing chief explained talks are still ongoing with Joshua’s US network DAZN through executive John Skipper, and Fury’s American promotion Top Rank – while Ortiz still remains in the picture.
Finkel said: “No, (Ortiz rumours) not true.
“That is something we are working on now, hopefully by next week it will be resolved.
“I had dinner the other night with John Skipper, we discussed the Joshua fight and I also have been in touch with Top Rank.
“We’re working on that, and those three fighters, Deontay will be fighting all of them in a succession which we will hopefully work out in the next couple of weeks.”
“In the next two weeks everything will be done, it will be said publicly what we’re doing and I believe the UK fans will also be happy.”
Finkel’s reveal comes as welcomed news for UK fans, who feared an undisputed showdown with Joshua or a rematch against Fury could be shelved for other options.
Fury was unlucky not to walk away with Wilder’s WBC title in December, despite twice being dropped in Los Angeles – but after signing a £80million deal with ESPN the rematch was backdated.
While Wilder had also chosen to walk away from a proposed three-fight deal by DAZN to stick with Showtime and box Breazeale.
That cast doubt that Wilder, despite being a freelancer in terms of network, could not make the shift to compete on rival networks DAZN or ESPN – where AJ and Fury both have contractual obligations.
However, Finkel confirmed a green light for his client to fight on either station suggesting there is “no issue” for Wilder to switch TV alliances in order to make the biggest fights.
Finkel added: “These two fights are too important for the fighters and the sport, they both will happen.
“When it’s ready a fight will be made, (promoter) Bob (Arum) will make a fight with us, that’s not an issue and we can do something with DAZN also – they are not issues.
“There is not an issue with DAZN, there is not an issue with making the fight.
Joshua’s promoter’s Eddie and Barry Hearn have admittedly had a turbulent past with Finkel and the rest of Wilder’s management team.
However, as relations are good with DAZN chief Skipper, Wilder’s co-manager confirmed he will work with the Hearn’s on making the undisputed fight.
He said: “Instead of dictating, dictating, dictating, it’s not going to work.
“I’ve had a very, very good rapport with John skipper, I believe the fight will happen, I believe the fight will happen with John and I’ll work with Eddie and Barry at the time.”
Skipper and Finkel will both attend Joshua’s next unified title defence against Andy Ruiz on June 1 – but confirmed Wilder will not be ringside.
Finkel added: “I’m going with John to the June 1 fight of Joshua.
“(Joshua) didn’t come to Deontay’s fight (against Breazeale), he was in New York or around here, so there’s no reason (Wilder) to.”
