Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott wheeled off field in tears after suffering horror ankle injury against NY Giants

DALLAS Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was carted off the field in tears after suffering a horror ankle injury against the New York Giants on Sunday night.

The Cowboys were up by a point with a little over six minutes in the third quarter of the game in Texas when he was tackled by Giants' defensive back Logan Ryan.

Video of the moment shared on social media showed the horrifying moment his lower right leg got caught under Ryan and appeared to snap.

He was seen grabbing his leg and writhing in agony with his foot bent at an awkward ankle away from his leg moments before he was carted off the field in tears.

The QB's teammates looked visibly shocked and worried as they watched from the sidelines.

Prescott sustained a serious right ankle injury and was reportedly taken to a local hospital for further evaluation.

Sources told Fox News on Sunday night that Prescott will undergo surgery.

His leg was initially put in a cast but before he was carted off the field, former Cowboys head coach Jason Garrett, most of Prescott's teammates, and multiple Giants players came to see him off.

Running back Ezekiel Elliot sounded devastated during his post-game interview even after the team's 37-34 victory over the winless Giants.

“I can’t even think right right now,” he told reporters. "It’s hard to kind of put in words."

"I’m sorry. I’m just struggling a little bit right now."

Prescott had a huge smile when greeted by right guard Zack Martin after becoming the first Dallas QB with a touchdown catch since Danny White had his second in 1985.

A mere 30 minutes later, Prescott’s season was over.

“I’ve got a sick taste in my stomach for it, because he was playing hell of a game, it was a hell of a battle between us,” Ryan said. “Nothing ill will on my part. I know he’s going to come back stronger.”
