Cristiano Ronaldo risks Juventus wrath by declaring himself fit for Portugal.. despite Sarri’s claims he is injured – The Sun

CRISTIANO RONALDO has declared himself fit to play for Portugal – after Juventus boss Maurizio Sarri claimed he is injured.

Ronaldo was subbed off after 55 minutes in Juventus' game against AC Milan last weekend and stormed down the tunnel after seemingly mouthing ‘What the f***’ to his manager.

The 34-year-old reportedly left Juve’s ground before the end of the game, and afterwards Sarri insisted the forward suffered a knee injury.

But Portugal’s skipper now faces the wrath of Old Lady bosses after telling local press he will be playing in his nation’s Euro 2020 qualifier against Estadio Algarve in Faro.

Ronaldo said: “To the national newspapers: the captain is fine.

“The captain is good, no – he’s very good.”

Ronaldo netted his 700th career goal last month, doing so in Portugal colours, but he has scored only once in his last five appearances for Juve.

And the forward was accused of diving to win a penalty for the Serie A champions, after the 34-year-old converted a last gasp penalty against Genoa.

After leaving the stadium early against Milan, Ronaldo's club team-mates are unimpressed with his actions and have demanded that he apologises.

His replacement Paulo Dybala was the match winner as he went on to score the only goal of the game in Juve's 1-0 win over the Rossoneri.

The result saw the Bianconeri, who are chasing their ninth consecutive league title, return to the top of Serie A, just one point above Antonio Conte's Inter Milan.

The petulant behaviour of senior player Ronaldo has left many of his colleagues demanding a personal apology and recognition of wrongdoing before he is willingly welcomed back into the fold.
