Cristiano Ronaldo doesn’t boast and has perfect manners reveals shocked Juventus team-mate Emre Can

CRISTIANO RONALDO is a popular figure within the Juventus dressing room and does not boast about his superstar status, according to teammate Emre Can.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner joined moved to the Allianz Stadium last summer for £88million from Real Madrid.

Ronaldo has not struggled to replicate his form from his spell in Spain, scoring 24 goals in all competitions.

Bianconeri are on course to retain their Serie A title – they have a 15 point-lead with 10 games left – and face Ajax in the Champions League quarter-finals.

Max Allegri's side are not without big names; their squad is graced by the likes of Giorgio Chiellini and Paulo Dybala.

But the Portugal international is now the stand-out figure in Turin – but he does not allow that tag to get to his head.

Speaking to Sport Bild, midfielder Can, who also arrived last summer said: "I can say that Cristiano is a very calm guy, he has his feet on the ground and he does not exhibit a star status, he impressed me a lot.

"[He] is the first to say 'hello' and 'thank you' for everything, he does not behave like that only with other players, but also with coaches, masseurs. People would be surprised if they saw what normal that is."

'COJONES' CELEBRATION DEFENDED

Off-the-field, Ronaldo has been accused of sexually abusing Kathryn Mayorga, 35, in Las Vegas in 2009, an allegation he strenuously denies.

The controversy does not appear to have affected the former Manchester United star's displays however after he scored a hat-trick in the comeback win over Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last-16.

Upon the final whistle being blown Ronaldo mirrored Diego Simeone's 'cojones' celebration, which landed the Argentine in hot-water with Uefa after Atletico's 2-0 first leg win.

European football's governing body fined him £17,300, and have now charged Ronaldo with improper conduct for his own version.

But Can feels the 34-year-old was fully justified in his actions.

He added: "After the gesture of Atlético coach Simeone in the first leg, you have to say that anyone like Ronaldo, who plays such a game and scores three goals, can answer and cheer as much as he likes."
