Conor McGregor posts cute snap with his two sons as UFC star plays doting dad while awaiting Octagon return | The Sun

CONOR MCGREGOR took a break from making digs at Nate Diaz and Tony Ferguson to spend some quality time with his two sons over the weekend.

The Notorious never holds back when it comes to his UFC rivals, but shows a softer side with his kids.

McGregor, 34, beamed from ear to ear as he posed with his sons Conor Jr and Rian on his sofa yesterday.

The Irishman put one arm around his boys as he posed for a picture.

In his other hand he held a cuppa in a mug adorned with the letter "C".

He captioned the post: "The McGregor boys, my boys."

He followed his words with a heart emoji followed by a prayer icon.

Conor Jr is McGregor's eldest child at five-years-old – having been born shortly before his dad's bout with Floyd Mayweather.

Rian is just one-years-old – while McGregor also has a three-year-old daughter named Croia.

While he showed his softer side as a doting father in the Instagram snap, McGregor didn't mince his words on Twitter over the weekend.

Diaz submits Ferguson in final UFC fight before promising to ‘take over’ boxing

He took exception to old foe Diaz's claim that he didn't know how to take over the world of boxing.

In response, the Notorious tweeted: "Ah come on bro I’m absolutely stinking. And with so much quality.

"This has never been seen before what I’m doing man. Please, Your nothing with out me.

"Respect, please. I’d slap you around handy. And Tony easy. I’d have sawed Tony in half. 2 ham ball heads.

"Respect the king."

Prior to Diaz's victory over Ferguson in what was the final bout of the Stockton legend's UFC contract, McGregor had been complimentary towards his former rival – even vowing to face him for a third time.

He wrote: "Congrats Nate Diaz on making it to the end of his contractual obligations with the UFC, and as a bonafide superstar goer.

"An incredible feat. Fair play.

"Our trilogy will happen."
