Conor McGregor appears to confirm UFC return with 'fight preparations' Instagram post

CONOR McGREGOR appeared to confirm his return to UFC after referencing "my own fight preparations" in an Instagram post.

The Irishman, 30, took to social media with his message of support for compatriot Katie Taylor.

The undefeated lightweight world champion takes on Delfine Persoon on the Anthony Joshua vs Andy Ruiz Jr undercard tomorrow night.

But in wishing her all the best, McGregor seems to imply he is making another comeback – and has been injured in the process.

Along with the photo of the Irish pair, he wrote: "This is one of my favorite pictures! ‬

"‪What an experience it was to watch this woman fight live! ‬

‪"If I was not in a cast from my own fight preparations, I would be ringside for this fight 100%! ‬

‪"Back this woman all the way! ‬

‪"Aiming to become the Unified World Boxing Champion this weekend!

"The first boxer male or female from the Emerald Isle to ever reach this coveted position!

"Ireland’s Katie Taylor! What a woman."

McGregor has not fought in the Octagon since his defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov in Las Vegas last October – and claimed he had retired in March.

But now it looks as though the UFC could be about to welcome back the controversial character, especially after being videoed flattening a sparring partner recently.

Alternatively, McGregor could be making "preparations" for a different type of fight.

He famously made the switch across from MMA to boxing to take on Floyd Mayweather in 2017.
