Chelsea want Barcelona's Denis Suarez in a £15m deal to replace Cesc Fabregas

Fabregas is believed to be closing in on a January switch to AC Milan after losing his place in the Blues first-team.

The Spaniard, who has won two Premier League titles at Stamford Bridge, has a contract at Chelsea that expires at the end of the season.

And boss Maurizio Sarri is already planning for life without the 31-year-old.

Reported by the Mirror, the Italian is looking towards Suarez and hopes Barca would be willing to cash in if they receive an offer in the region of £15million.

Suarez, 24, came through the youth ranks at Manchester City but made the switch to the Catalan giants in 2013.

But he has since struggled to establish himself among the droves of midfield talent in Barca's first team and has been limited to just eight minutes of league action this season.

And he recently revealed how he is open to a new challenge.

Speaking to Spanish media just last week, he said: "I work to play and I'm not having minutes, if I do not play … we'll see.

"I want to play, today I was able to enjoy and I felt good, comfortable, I want to play as much as possible."

After leaving City, he had a loan stint at Sevilla and later moved to Villarreal for an undisclosed fee.

Suarez played just one season at the Estadio de la Ceramica and Barca exercised the buy back clause as part of the deal.

Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko is another player braced to leave Stamford Bridge on a permanent deal.

The Frenchman has turned his fortunes around during his loan stint at AC Milan and now the Serie A side want to sign him on a permanent deal.
