Chelsea legend Flourent Malouda shocked after FC Zurich announce his release without him knowing

CHELSEA legend Flourent Malouda only found out he had been released as a coach by FC Zurich after the club announced the news online.

Malouda, 38,finished his playing career last year with Luxembourg's FC Differdange 03 before joining Zurich in February as a coach.

However, the club announced this morning they had released the former French international in a “mutual agreement”.

A statement read: “FC Zurich and Florent Malouda have decided by mutual agreement to end the recently started cooperation.

“It turns out that the various projects in which Florent Malouda remains involved are not compatible with the tasks planned by the FCZ.

“We wish Florent Malouda good luck and success on his future career path.”

The agreement was not so “mutual” however, according to Malouda who tweeted his surprise at the news.

Malouda replied to the announcement: “Really I didn't know that..??”

The left-winger spent six years at Stamford Bridge, winning a Premier League title, three FA Cups and also lifting the Champion League trophy in 2012.

Malouda left England in 2013 after being released and moved to Turkey's Trabzonspor.
