Chelsea boss Sarri is top choice to replace Allegri as Juventus 'make contact with key agent'

CHELSEA boss Maurizio Sarri is a shock candidate to replace Massimiliano Allegri at Juventus.

Despite guaranteeing the Blues a top-four finish, there are still rumours that Sarri could be given the boot at Stamford Bridge this summer.

Fans have never taken to his "Sarri-ball" tactics, and his reluctance to play the likes of Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Callum Hudson-Odoi has alienated him still further.

Now Italian newspaper TuttoSport is reporting that the 60-year-old is being eyed by Juventus for their top job.

It is believed the club have already been in touch with an agent close to the Chelsea gaffer.

The Old Lady are expected to face a battle to keep hold of Allegri, with Paris Saint-Germain believed to be sniffing around.

Should Allegri decide to leave the Serie A champs, Sarri is seemingly a frontrunner for a return to Italy just a season after leaving Napoli.

SARRI NEEDS ADDITIONS

And with Chelsea's transfer ban upheld, it could push Sarri into a Stamford Bridge exit.

The Blues have been clobbered with a two-window transfer suspension for breaking rules over the signing of young foreign players.

Fifa threw out their appeal — leaving them praying it is overturned by the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

Boss Sarri faces the nightmare prospect of not being able to add to his squad this summer as he bids to close the gap on Liverpool and Manchester City.

Sarri admitted: “It’s very difficult to cover the gap at the moment. We need something from the transfer market.

“It’s not easy as the level of the top two is very, very high. And, as we can see in Europe, it’s not easy.

“In my opinion, we can reduce the gap. We have to buy only one or two players. Otherwise it’s very difficult to improve.

“We are a very good team, so need only one or two players.”
