Brighton 1 West Brom 1: Karlan Grant scores first for Baggies after Jake Livermore own-goal

KARLAN GRANT bagged his first West Brom goal to snatch a point against Brighton at the Amex.

The Seagulls had seemed destined for all three points, after Jake Livermore's first-half own goal.

But Grant had other ideas, rifling a thumping shot past Mat Ryan with 83 minutes on the clock.

Graham Potter's side thought they'd grabbed the lead in the 15th minute, when Neal Maupay volleyed home Adam Lallana's pass, although the Frenchman proved to be well offside.

Brighton weren't to be denied, however, and went ahead in comical fashion as Branislav Ivanovic inadvertently booted Tariq Lamptey's centre off the helpless Jake Livermore and into the net five minutes before the break..

Brighton would have gone above Manchester United with a victory, but Grant's late effort kept them 16th, just two points and one place above the winless Baggies.
