Boxing on TV this weekend: Ohara Davies kicks off action, Deontay Wilder’s Ortiz rematch, Callum Smith vs John Ryder – The Sun

BOXING fans are treated to the first round of the super-lightweight Golden Contract this weekend – with Ohara Davies in action.

The MTK promoted tournament will see eight 140lbs contenders fighting to win a promotional contract.

There's also world title action from over the pond to look forward to on what is sure to be an exciting run of fight nights.

Friday, November 22

Ohara Davies vs Logan Yoon – York Hall

What a way to kick-off nearly three days of potentially epic cards.

Davies is joined by a stellar cast of Tyrone McKenna, Akeem Ennis-Brown, Zhankosh Turarov, Mohamed Mimoune, Anthony Yigi, Darren Surtees and Logan Yoon in the capital.

The action gets underway at 7.30pm and will be televised here in the UK on Sky Sports Action.

Jack Catterall vs Timo Schwarzkopf – Dubai

British super-lightweight Jack Catterall travels to Dubai to fight Timo Schwarzkopf.

The unbeaten Lancastrian will look to extend his pro record to 25-0, but will face a tough test against the 28-year-old German slugger.

Muhammad Waseem faces Ganigan Lopez, whilst Thomas Patrick Ward is also on the bill.

Callum Smith vs John Ryder

In Liverpool, WBA super-middleweight world champion Callum Smith defends his title against mandatory challenger John Ryder.

Anthony Fowler, James Tennyson, Tom Farrell, and Sean ‘Masher’ Dodd are also on the card.

Deontay Wilder vs Luis Ortiz

Also on Sky Sports Action, Deontay Wilder defends his WBC heavyweight title against Cuban southpaw Luis Ortiz.

The action gets underway in the early hours of Sunday morning at 2am and features ex-Carl Frampton opponent Leo Santa Cruz facing Miguel Flores for the vacant WBA super-featherweight world title.
