Arsenal ‘set to sign Ben White and Aaron Ramsdale’ as Mikel Arteta looks to complete seven summer transfers

ARSENAL reportedly want to bring in even more new faces this summer once they complete the proposed signings of Ben White and Aaron Ramsdale.

The English duo top Mikel Arteta's wish-list as he looks to improve on his team's eight-placed finish last season.

The Gunners conceded 39 goals in 38 games in the previous campaign and Arteta reckons the pair can help stem that flow of goals at the back.

The Spaniard has shown he means business by slapping down a £50million bid for Brighton centre-back White.

Other clubs have made enquiries about the 23-year-old defender, but Arsenal's has been the most aggressive, according to The Athletic.

The Athletic also claim that the Gunners see goalie Ramsdale as the ideal cover and future replacement of German veteran Bernd Leno.

The Sheffield United stopper received glowing praise for his input at Euro 2020 with England which has stoked Arsenal interest.

However, the Gunners have so far failed to meet the Blades asking price of £40m.

But this won't deter the North London side in their pursuit, the Athletic report.

If Arteta gets his way, White and Ramsdale will only be the start of his summer revamp.

He's already signed left back Nuno Tavares for £8m from Benfica.

And Anderlecht midfielder Albert Sambi Lokonga's £17m arrival at the Emirates is said to be imminent.

The Athletic reckon the 39-year-old still would like to bring in a new right-back, another centre midfielder to partner Thomas Partey and a playmaker.

The Gunners have already managed to fend off interest from Aston Villa to retain the services of 20-year-old attacking prodigy Emile Smith Rowe.

In addition to Rowe, Arsenal are considering bringing back Real Madrid maestro Martin Odegaard to the club.

The 22-year-old impressed during a loan spell in North London in the second half of last season and Arteta's keen to sign him on a permanent basis.

And according to The Athletic, the Gunners pursuit of the Norwegian has been given a boost amid Los Blancos financial woes.

Madrid are under pressure by La Liga giants to reduce their wage bill and could be willing to let Odegaard go in order to do so.

But before they can bring in all these new faces, the Gunners will have to off-load some dead weight.

Hector Bellerin is expected to lead the mass exodus after falling out of favour at the club.

The Spanish full-back wants a new challenge after ten years at the Emirates and fancies moving to another country.

Paris Saint-Germain and AC Milan are both monitoring the situation and could make a move at the right price.

Arsenal hope to raise as much as £35million for a player who still has two years to run on his contract — but may be forced to slash their asking price.
