Arsenal legend Thierry Henry wanted by New York Red Bulls despite Monaco flop

THIERRY HENRY is reportedly in talks with New York Red Bulls over becoming the club's new boss, according to reports.

The Arsenal legend, 41, looks set to return to management with his former club despite his disastrous spell with Monaco – which lasted just 109 days.

According to Sky Sources, the MLS side have made a move for the Frenchman following the club's poor run of form.

New York Red Bulls are slumped at ninth in the table after winning just one of their last six league games.

It is predicted that Henry's arrival at the Red Bull Arena would raise the club's profile and increase their commercial revenues.

And he would be a favourite with the fans after he scored 52 goals in 122 appearances for the club after he joined form Barcelona in 2010.

But his first attempt at management ended terribly after he was axed by Monaco after winning just two league games in 12 attempts.

Henry guided the club into the relegation zone after just five wins in all competitions during his three-month reign.

After he decided to hang up his boots, Henry earned his UEFA A licence while working as a youth coach with Arsenal.

He went on to be Roberto Martinez's assistant manage of the Belgium national team before his nightmare spell with Monaco.

But the French World Cup winner will look to redeem his reputation in the dugout if talks continue for him to take over from Chris Armas.
