Arsenal and Tottenham to battle it out for £40m on-loan Leicester midfielder Tielemans

YOURI TIELEMANS will reportedly be at the centre of a summer transfer battle between North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham.

The 21-year-old – currently starring on loan at Leicester – has caught the eye of the Premier League's top clubs following his dazzling displays at the King Power Stadium.

Tielemans failed to make the grade at Monaco after signing for the Ligue 1 club from Anderlecht last summer.

He was shipped off on loan to the Foxes in January with Adrien Silva going in the other direction, and has now established himself as a key player under Brendan Rodgers.

The Belgian international – who has chipped in with three goals and five assists in 11 games since his arrival in England – is believed to be available for around £40million.

According to the Daily Star, both the Gunners and Spurs have identified the youngster as a key transfer target when the window opens.

Manchester United are also understood to be in the race to nab the talented midfielder.

Tielemans opened the scoring with a header against Arsenal on Sunday to help Leicester ease to a 3-0 win against Unai Emery's side.

Leicester don't have the option of turning his loan deal into a permanent move, but Tielemans has given fans hope after revealing he is loving life in the Midlands.

He said after Sunday's game at the KP Stadium: "I’m feeling the love. When you score and you hear your name with the crowd singing ‘sign him up’ it’s fantastic to play in that atmosphere.

"As for my future, we’ll see at the end of the season. I am just enjoying everything here and we’ll see after the next two games.

“I’m doing my very best to play at a high level and I will keep going until the end of the season and finish the two games on a high.”
