Another Giants player tests positive for COVID-19

The coronavirus has made its way inside the New York Giants’ locker room for the second time this year, the team announced on Twitter Tuesday morning.

“(Monday) night, we were notified that a player tested positive for COVID-19,” the tweet read. “The player was immediately self-isolated, and the contact tracing process was initiated. Two close contacts, both staff members, were identified and were informed to remain home today.

This is the team’s second bout with the virus. Three weeks ago, offensive lineman Will Hernandez tested positive, and was placed on the COVID-19/Reserve list. Hernandez returned to the team for Sunday’s win over the Eagles.

The Giants have a Week 11 bye, so there’s a chance the positive test will have little effect on game day preparation. They travel to Cincinnati to take on the Bengals on Nov. 29.

The Quest Diagnostics Training Center remained open to staff, according to the tweet.
