Andros Townsend stunner at Man City named Premier League Goal of the Season

ANDROS TOWNSEND has won the Premier League Goal of the Season award for his sublime 25-yard volley against Manchester City.
In a season of stunning goals, the English winger, 27, scored Crystal Palace’s second goal in a shock 3-2 win over the Premier League champions.
Townsend showed inch-perfect technique to smash home the volley with his left foot after City made a hash of clearing an earlier free-kick.
But Townsend's goal won in the end thanks to the combined votes of a panel of experts and from the public.
Fans were able to pick their favourite via the Carling website and the Carling Tap app.
Townsend’s strike won the 2018-19 award in a competitive shortlist – including Vincent Kompany’s last-ever goal for the club.
The City skipper – now heading to Anderlecht to take on the role of player-manager – unleashed a thunderous strike to give City a crucial win over Leicester.
The list also included a piece of individual brilliance from Eden Hazard, dribbling past most of the West Ham defence to score in the bottom right corner.
Other goals on this season’s shortlist included stunners from Liverpool’s Daniel Sturridge and Arsenal’s departing ace Aaron Ramsey.
Newcastle’s Fabian Schar, Brighton forward Anthony Knockaert, Tottenham star Son Heung-min and Fulham’s Jean Michael Seri and Andre Schurrle also featured.
