Ajax superstar Matthijs de Ligt has 'no interest' in Man Utd transfer as they 'aren't the club they used to be'

MATTHIJS DE LIGT has snubbed a move to Manchester United – because they are no longer the giants they used to be.
United had singled out the brilliant Ajax defender as one of their big summer targets as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer undertakes a major overhaul of his squad.
They were willing to match the £60million valuation for the 19-year-old centre-back and make him the linchpin of their back line for years to come.
United were prepared to come up with a financial package worth £250,000-a-week in order to clinch the signature of the Ajax captain.
But the Daily Star say De Ligt has already decided to snub the chance of a move to Old Trafford because he has no interest in joining them.
And the central reason for him being so dismissive of United is because they are no longer the big sell they used to be.
NOT ATTRACTIVE
They quote a source saying: "Matthijs is going to become the best defender in the world.
"He will have the choice to join whoever he wants, but he has no interest in going to United. They are not the attractive proposition they once were.
"He knows he is in a strong bargaining position because his stock has risen so fast.
"He's one of the most in demand stars on the planet."
Manchester City have been tracking the highly-rated youngster who has led his side to the brink of a place in the Champions League final this season.
