  • LIVERPOOL, Tottenham and Manchester City are facing more frustration over the early transfer window closure.

The three clubs have been the loudest voices urging Premier League chiefs to align their deadline with the rest of Europe, where clubs had up to 24 more days to trade.

England’s date was brought forward after protests from bosses such as City’s Pep Guardiola about the uncertainty caused by the September cut-off.

In November, a vote to revert to the previous deadline saw only nine of the 20 top-flight clubs in favour.

Even if Liverpool and Spurs, for example, have swapped sides — and the managers’ views may not be shared at board level — it needs 14 clubs to agree a change of rules.

No new vote has been scheduled although a debate is expected.

Acting Prem chief exec Richard Masters will leave it to the clubs to decide — but there is a feeling from some that they should not be “bullied” by the Big Six.

  • TOTTENHAM are reportedly fearful of losing Toby Alderweireld for nothing after failing to cash in on the Belgian centre-back.

The ex-Ateltico Madrid man – who has been chased by Roma this summer – will be a fee agent next summer.

He was available for £25million this summer because of a release clause in his contract, but that expired last month.

The Mirro claim that Spurs believe they could now end up with him walking away for free.

European clubs are free to talk to him in January.

  • FORMER Spurs striker Fernado Llorente could be about to sign for Napoli.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Spanish forward has been offered a contract by the Serie A side.

The ex-Swansea man is a free agent following his release by Spurs this summer.

Napoli are also believed to be closing in on the signing of winger Hirving Lozano from PSV.

  • GARY NEVILLE believes Spurs have got the best football operator in Daniel Levy.

The Tottenham owner has often been criticised by fans for not splashing the cash and being too shrewd in the transfer window.

But Neville insists he runs his club perfectly.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: “I believe they (Sprus) have got the best operator in football in Levy.

“You might not agree. [He’s the best] in the Premier League. Absolutely the best for me.

“He gets some things wrong, of course he does. But he doesn’t get messed around, he stands his ground, stands up to managers.”
