IN FOR THE VIL
Santi Cazorla claims he’s been asked about Villarreal teammates Pau Torres and Samuel Chukwueze by former club Arsenal.
Torres, 22, and Chukwueze, 20, have both caught the eye this season.
He told Marca: “Yes (I’m asked about them), friends from Arsenal especially. They ask me about them and think they can make the jump to the Premiership tomorrow.
“It’s good that great teams are interested in young players from Villarreal, but for the moment I tell them to leave them alone here.
“They still have to take steps forward. They both have a great personality and their feet are on the ground.
“In Pau’s case he hears constant talk of City or Barcelona, but he is aware that he has to keep growing as a player and that in the future we will see where he can go.”
HOW ABOUT STAT
TWO-FOR-ONE
Juventus will offer Manchester United £125million plus BOTH Aaron Ramsey and Adrien Rabiot in part exchange for Paul Pogba.
That is according to the latest reports in Italy, who claim the tempting package will be made to the Red Devils this summer.
French World Cup winner Pogba, 26, looks increasingly likely to leave Old Trafford after an injury-hit campaign.
Now La Gazzetta dello Sport state his old club Juventus have worked out a plan to try and ensure his return to Turin.
They have finalised a package worth £125m, which includes the midfielder’s wages, and are also ready to throw in both Ramsey and Rabiot to sweeten the deal.
ART ATTACK
Mikel Arteta has delivered a warning to Gabriel Martinelli ahead of Sunday's home clash against Newcastle.
Speaking to Sky Sports: “He needs to digest a lot of things. The better you do, the more you have to start to digest what people think about you.
“He has to think ‘now, the opponents know me better, the spaces are smaller, I am going to have more attention.
“I still want to do what I was doing three weeks ago or four weeks ago, but now it’s not happening.’ As a young player, you need to go through that. The mental side of it is a process.”
YES WAY, JOSE
Jose Mourinho believes Spurs are one of a number of clubs still capable of finishing in the Champions League spots.
Speaking to BBC One's Football Focus, he said: “First of all, I see much more clubs than people think.
“Sometimes it looks like, because Chelsea are the fourth and sometimes Tottenham is in fifth and Manchester United are the sixth, we are smelling the opportunity.
“I think people forget there are big contenders – Wolves, Sheffield United, Manchester United, even Arsenal, so it's not just about what's the distance between us and Chelsea.”
