    ASHLEY COLE is loving life with Chelsea in Japan.

    The 38-year-old joined up with his old club in their pre-season tour as a club ambassador and will get help starting his post-playing career.

    Speaking to the club's website, he said: “It’s good being back in the Chelsea family.

    “I’m buzzing to see Lamps get the job. To be around the guys has been great, and it’s nice to see Mason and Fikayo involved having played with them at Derby last year.

    “We have been reminiscing a bit, with Petr too, and it’s been a really good trip. I’ve been calling Lamps the gaffer, it’s only a couple of months since he was my boss but to me he’s Lamps again now!”

    FRANK LAMPARD is reportedly ready to make Reece James part of his Chelsea first-team squad but Fikayo Tomori will be heading out on loan again.

    Full-back James, 19, shone while on loan at Wigan last season and has a host of clubs interested in his services, including Crystal Palace.

    But Goal claim Lampard is set to keep him at Stamford Bridge.

    MARCOS ALONSO joked that his dad caused a family rift by leaving Real Madrid for arch rivals Barcelona.

    The 28-year-old came on as a substitute at half-time during Chelsea's 2-1 win over his father's former side.

    Speaking on the Chelsea website, the Spaniard said: “My father played for the Real Madrid Academy as well but after a few things happened, he went to Barcelona.

    “With our family all from Madrid, going there caused a few fights in the family! No I'm only joking, it was all good and he had a great time there.”
