  • FORMER Newcastle and Paris Saint-Germain star Hatem Ben Arfa is reportedly close to joining Galatasaray.

The 32-year-old has been a free agent since the summer after leaving French side Rennes.

He led the club to an unlikely French Cup triumph last season.

But according to Goal, the winger is set to agree an 18-month deal to join the Turkish giants.

  • TOTTENHAM are expected to make Giovani Lo Celso's loan from Real Betis permanent in January.

The Argentine midfielder, 23, has struggled with injury since his deadline-day move from Spain, making just three starts for the North London side.

But Betis president Angel Haro expects Spurs to activate their £27million option to buy in next month's transfer window to avoid an obligation to pay around £34m for him in the summer should Jose Mourinho's side finish in the top four.

Haro said: “Yes they will exercise the option because they are not taxed as much as if they have to exercise it in June, when the purchase becomes mandatory.

“We understand that they will exercise it, but if not we will be delighted with the player returning.”

  • MANCHESTER UNITED have joined the race to sign Barcelona defender Jean-Clair Todibo, according to reports.

The 19-year-old has linked with a move away from the Nou Camp after making just three appearances in all competitions this season.

According to Sport, the Red Devils will battle against the likes of Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan for his signature.

But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's could be put off by the defender's buy-back clause.

It is understood that Barcelona want to sell him with the option for them to sign him back within the next two seasons.

The Spanish side view him as a long-term option – but are willing to offload him temporarily to gain first-team experience.

Barcelona are expected to demand £17m for the defender despite signing him for just £1.7m from Toulouse in January.

Southampton and Everton have also been linked to the France Under-20 international.

  • CHELSEA have signed their first player since their transfer ban was lifted after they snapped up 16-year-old striker Bryan Fiabema.

The Norwegian youngster impressed during a trial at the Blues and will now link up with the academy.

Fiabema has already made his senior debut in Norway with current club Tromso, after playing in the game against FK Haugesund in July.

The forward was joined by fellow Norwegian star Christos Zafeiris on his trial – but as yet it's unsure whether the latter has been offered a deal.

Fiabema will be closely watched by Frank Lampard, who's already proven he is more than willing to blood talented youth.

  • MANCHESTER UNITED will refuse to discuss Paul Pogba's future with agent Mino Raiola while thrashing out a deal for £76million-rated Erling Haaland.

Both players are clients of super-agent Raiola, with United fearful he will demand assurances over Pogba's future as part of the negotiations with Haaland.

United are adamant no such behaviour will be allowed, according to reports.

Raiola and Man Utd have endured a somewhat rocky relationship down the years, not least regarding Pogba.

Romelu Lukaku is one former Red Devils star who has been on the books of Raiola over the years.

United are increasingly confident in landing sought-after star Haaland this January – but are wary of other clubs' interest.
