    IN RUUD HEALTH

Ruud Gullit's son Maxim has made his professional football debut aged 19.

The son of Chelsea icon Gullit is also related to legendary Dutch star Johan Cruyff who is his mum's uncle.

And the teenager turned out for Dutch side AZ Alkmaar during their 4-1 Europa League victory at home to HNK Rijeka ysterday.

Having moved to Alkmaar's academy in July 2017 from AFC Amsterdam, the centre-back has worked his way up through the age groups from the Under-17s to the first team.

The teenager only played a minute – coming off the bench to replace former Stoke man Bruno Martins Indi in the 90th minute.

    CESC ON FIRE

With Chelsea travelling to Burnley tomorrow, why not bring up this gorgeous Andre Schurrle goal against the Clarets back in 2014, when Cesc Fabregas provided one of the Premier League's all-time great assists.

    PUL THE OTHER ONE

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has hit back at comments made by Red Bull Salzburg manager Jesse Marsch, that accused the Englishman of being 'slow' to trust US star Christian Pulisic.

The Blues manager said: “I did read the comments and I was surprised that Jesse had managed to read my mind as well as he thought he did. He’s recounted the conversation wrong so I have to put it correct.

“It was a game against Salzburg in pre-season where Christian scored two goals and I spoke to Jesse after about what a talented player he was and how exciting it was to see how he could develop for us with the talent he has. That was the conversation and Jesse managed to put it across slightly differently.

“I played in America for 18 months and I would never underestimate the desire that American players have to learn and improve and take on information and understand the technical side of the game. When you have that, which Christian has, along with incredible talent, it was never in doubt for me.

“It’s clearly the toughest league in the world to come and play in at a young age from a different league. Some of the greatest players in Premier League history have felt that.

“What Christian did was find his feet very quickly and have a breakthrough season where he produced more goals and assists than he has done before so I thought his performance last season was massively impressive and he will keep getting better and I never doubted it in the first place. As a manager, I never doubted him and it’s important for me to put that straight.”

    BARK IN BUSINESS

Aston Villa boss Dean Smith has raved over the quality of Chelsea-loanee Ross Barkley.

Smith, 49, said: “He's someone I felt we needed. I look at the Premier League and you need legs in your midfield area because you've got to cover a lot of ground in a game. Ross does that.

“He's got ambitions to get into the Euro squad at the end of the season.

“With the quality Chelsea have got they couldn't guarantee anyone minutes. His work ethic and attitude has been tremendous. He brings us that added bit of quality that we needed.”

    WINGING IT

Chelsea travel to Burnley on Saturday, hoping to compound the winless Clarets' misery at Turf Moor.

The Blues will be full of confidence after trouncing Krasnodar 4-0 in midweek, and SunSport have predicted how Frank Lampard could line his side up this time around.

    WERN TO WATCH

Timo Werner is finding the Premier League tougher than the Bundesliga, according to former boss Julian Nagelsmann.

The RB Leipzig manager said this week: “But when I watch games of the Premier League I recognise that it’s a very tough and good league.

“I talked to Timo Werner as well, he told me that it’s hard to play against teams in the Premier League – a bit harder, sometimes, than to play against teams in the Bundesliga.

“So perhaps it’s one of the best leagues in the world, I think that’s clear, but perhaps it’s the best league in the world.”

    CLARETS AND BLUES

Chelsea travel to winless Burnley tomorrow aiming to compound the lowly Clarets' misery at Turf Moor.

And it certainly doesn't hurt having Christian Pulisic back in contention and back in form.

    FITNESS UPDATE

Frank Lampard has given the lowdown on the availability of his players ahead of this weekend's PPV match against Burnley.

He said: “Thiago is fit. Taking him out of the trip to Russia was more of a maintenance issue for him.

“Kepa is outside as I speak. He’s got some progression in his shoulder injury so we’re hopeful but we’ll see with that one.

“In terms of the rest of the squad, we don’t have any clear injuries but we do have a bit of a tired group.

“We arrived back late in the early hours of the morning so I’ll have to assess everybody today and tomorrow to see how they’ve settled down over the next 24 hours and then we’ll see where we’re at.”

    HEN NIGHT

Chelsea are reportedly ready to award teenage star Henry Lawrence a new three-year deal.

The full-back has impressed Frank Lampard on several occasions and could become the latest youngster to break into the first-team.

Last season, Lawrence was a regular for the Blues' Under-23 team and was named on the bench for the Champions League trip to Bayern Munich.

Chelsea are ready to take the next step and, according to Goal, he will put pen to paper on a new three-year deal in the coming days.

A loan move was planned for the 19-year-old in the autumn transfer window and may be explored again in January.

    GOOD MORNING BLUES FANS

Chelsea right-back Reece James has donated £10,000 to a London food charity with the aim of raising £100,000 by December.

The 20-year-old has joined Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford in the fight to end hunger.

According to the Daily Mail, the England international has been working with the Felix Project – a charity that delivers surplus food to those in need of it in the capital.

He has pledged a five-figure sum to the organisation in his bid to tackle food poverty.

It has also been claimed that James is hoping to raise ten times the amount he has pledged before his 21st birthday on December 8.

The Mail state that the ex-Wigan loanee is launching a fundraising page to help the charity. They aim to deliver a whopping 19 million meals by the end of 2020.

Meanwhile, Frank Lampard admits Timo Werner could replace Jorginho as Chelsea's new penalty taker.

Jorginho missed his second spot-kick this season against Lokomotiv Moscow before Werner put another away in the 4-0 win.

Lampard said: “Jorginho has had an incredibly successful rate of scoring penalties in his career, particularly at Chelsea.

“My feeling is when you take as many penalties as he does, there can be periods when you miss one, and sometimes there can be periods where you miss one or two. I experienced that as a player.

“I’ve got no problem at all with his style of taking them, because of the success he’s had, and Timo Werner, I know he’s very capable to take penalties as we saw.

“We have other players that can, so I’ll talk with the players afterwards to see how we move forward. But we have good penalty takers at the club.”

Finally, Ben Chilwell bravely revealed on social media he had therapy after his 'confidence took a hit'.

He said: “Last year I went through a period where my confidence took a hit and it affected me in my everyday life. I eventually spoke to someone about it and found it helped a lot.

“In football especially people don't like to show weakness. But talking about difficulties or problems in your life with others is important.

“Everyone is going through something and hopefully someone has seen this tweet and feels they are able to talk to someone about something troubling them, where they felt they couldn't before.

“I think it's important we all talk on this topic, especially with everything going on at the moment.”

    ZIY OH MY

Hakim Ziyech's starring role in the win over Lokomotiv Moscow has led to high praise from Frank Lampard.

The Blues boss explained: “Ziyech has worked really hard to be fit, and I was very excited to get his quality into the team.

“He brought a lot of quality and calmness when he was on the pitch, and got a well-deserved goal.

“His performance was very, very good when you consider he hasn’t started a match since March, when the Dutch league finished.

“It’s been frustrating for him and for us as his injury has meant he hasn’t been able to start.

“But what I’ve seen in training and what I knew we were signing is a player of immense quality with personality to receive the ball and find assists and goals.

“We saw a lot of glimpses of that, and he will get better.

“We brought him in to do a job, and maybe people had forgotten about him a bit because we signed him in January and he missed the start of the season.

“But now he has shown that he is here.”

    CALL GUY

Callum Hudson-Odoi hopes to progress after scoring against Lokomotiv Moscow.

He said: “I’ll take any goal that comes my way. It was a shot that the goalkeeper mis-parried and it went in but a goal is a goal, so you try to keep improving and get more.

“We worked really hard from the start and we deserved our goals with the way we played.

“There were a few times when we were lackadaisical, a bit slow at times, but after that we grew into the game and we took our chances well.“

    WILL POWER

Ex-Chelsea star Willian has admitted that he can get frustrated in Mikel Arteta's system, but insists that he is 'learning a lot' at Arsenal.

Willian told Globo Esporte: “It’s been a cool, new experience. I hadn’t worked with a coach with that mindset.

“The positional game doesn’t mean that you have no freedom on the pitch, you have the freedom to move, but many times you have to respect the position, what the coach asks, the instructions, understanding that it’ll be better for the team.

“It may happen that you don’t touch the ball and get frustrated, but Mikel always says that, wait a minute, the ball will arrive. I’ve been learning a lot.”

    LEAGUE OF THEIR OWN

La Liga chief Javier Tebas has slammed “ignorant” Real Madrid and Barcelona for backing a breakaway European Super League.

He said: “Little by little, this Super League idea is less clandestine, more open.

“But it doesn’t have a large showing of support.

“In fact, it is a very minor project that lacks economic or social depth.

“It shows a clear ignorance of the politics of football, the culture of football, the economy of football and of the audiovisual rights of football.”

    WHAT A MESUT

Premier League squads remain brimming with incredible talent, despite the coronavirus pandemic.

Club chiefs were scrambling around earlier this month to try and ship off their unwanted goods, as the clock ticked towards the deadline of an already extended transfer window.

Some teams got the job done, with Real Madrid taking financial hits to get rid of the likes of Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez, in order to assist manager Zinedine Zidane's rebuild.

Chris Smalling was another that managed to escape becoming an outcast, with his Deadline Day permanent switch to AS Roma from Manchester United going through just in time.

But some players, and clubs, weren't so fortunate, let's take a look at some of the stars that find themselves either stuck at a club, or without one entirely, as we enter November.
