  • MANCHESTER UNITED could face a £12million agent fee to complete the signing of Erling Haaland.

United are confident of winning the race to sign the brilliant striker from RB Salzburg next month.

But super-agent Mino Raiola, who represents Haaland, is also demanding a huge fee if he brings the 24-goal Norwegian to Old Trafford.

The Austrian club are keen on a deal which sees the 19-year-old stay with them on loan until May.

And United are coming round to the idea of sanctioning those terms if it means they beat off competition from across Europe for his signature.

SunSport understands a figure of £12m has been quoted by Raiola — one of the biggest intermediaries in the game.

The club would be keen to reduce that figure drastically, but accept they must pay Raiola if they want to get the deal done.

Haaland is also set to be sent back on loan to Red Bull for the rest of the season.

Solskjaer had wanted to bring in the forward, who has scored 24 goals in 22 appearances this season, in January to boost the club’s battle for a top-four finish.

But Salzburg are insisting they will only do a deal if they are able to keep the brilliant teenager for the remainder of the campaign.

  • MASON GREENWOOD has thanked Juan Mata, Daniel James and Anthony Martial for helping him at United.

He told United Review: “Obviously, it's tough playing at the top level but it's good to have all the other lads helping you out on the pitch.

“It's like you never feel alone. If you make a mistake, it's okay because everyone makes mistakes.

“I would say all the other lads help you; before the game, they are geeing you up and everything.

“I sit next to Juan [Mata], Dan James and Anthony Martial in the dressing room so they are the main ones, who help me out a lot.

“But all the lads are really nice and helpful.”

  • EXCLUSIVE: AARON WAN-BISSAKA comes up against a childhood pal on Wednesday who will be hoping to turn Old Trafford into Colchester’s winter wonderland.

Courtney Senior grew up three minutes away from Wan-Bissaka in New Addington, South London.

The pair used to play on the green opposite the council house where the Manchester United star lived as a kid.

Senior, 22, told SunSport: “We’re in the same friendship group. He’s moved to Manchester now so I don’t see him as much. But when he’s down in London we’ll meet up

“Even though he’s my friend, I’m still inspired by him.

“Even with the money and all that, he’s still the same person. He’s still humble.

“I saw him the day after the Manchester derby because we went to Winter Wonderland for our Christmas do and the Man Utd boys were there.

“It’ll be good to be back on the pitch against him. We were on the same team before but we’re rivals now!”

  • OLE GUNNAR SOLSKJAER will celebrate his one-year anniversary as Manchester United manager on Thursday.

Speaking on the club website, he said: “My first year has gone very quickly and it has been so enjoyable.

“It is just an honour and privilege, of course, and I will make sure that I can have a good celebration on Wednesday.

“We are at home but, of course, this is a team that has knocked out Tottenham and Crystal Palace, so there is no way we are going to take them lightly.

“Even though we are favourites and big favourites, we know you have to go out there, perform, create chances and score goals. We hope to do so.”

  • MAN UTD will force Paul Pogba to remain at Old Trafford amid recurring Real Madrid links.

The Frenchman has not played since September with his latest setback coming in the form of illness.

Pogba's commitment to the club has been called into question after videos of him dancing at his brother's wedding and shooting hoops with basketball star Jimmy Butler were posted online – despite being out injured.

The Daily Mail report that the midfielder does not want to sign a new contract at United, with just 18 months left on his current deal.

The Red Devils do have the option of extending it, while reports tell that the club do not want to sell him.
