  • WHAT ZIYECH

Chelsea have reportedly beaten rivals Manchester United and Arsenal to the signing of Ajax star Hakim Ziyech.

Dutch outlet De Telegraaf claims the Blues have reached a verbal agreement for the Moroccan to complete a £38million move this summer.

The report adds that Frank Lampard ordered the Stamford Bridge hierarchy to strike a deal for the 26-year-old at the end of the season after failing in the January transfer window.

However, Chelsea's bid to land Ziyech may rest on their ability to secure Champions League football for next season, with the Blues just two points clear of Sheffield United infifth place.

Ziyech has eight goals and 21 assists in all competitions this season.

  • ODSONNE A MOVE?

Sky Sports pundit Charlie Nicholas reckons Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard would do well at Chelsea.

Edouard, 22, is enjoying a purple patch of form right now, with 20 goals in 22 league appearances this season.

And former Celtic and Arsenal striker Nicholas thinks he could be ready for the step up to the Premier League.

He said: “Edouard is good enough to go and play at a Chelsea or a Manchester United.

“I say that with some confidence. I think he could go into both their squads and make a real impact. That is how much ability he has.”

  • BOGA BOARD TALKS

Chelsea transfer chief Marina Granovskaia is set for talks with Sassuolo today regarding Jeremie Boga.

The French-born Ivory Coast international left Chelsea in 2018 after a series of loan spells but a buy-back clause inserted in the deal means he could be available for £12.7million.

Boga has been in fine form this season and Granovskaia could now exercise that option as she enters discussions with Sassuolo president Giovanni Carnevali.

Fellow Premier League sides Everton and West Ham are thought to be interested in the 23-year-old winger but look set to miss out unless Chelsea try to sell Boga on for a profit after buying him back.

  • BILLY THE KID

Billy Gilmour has confirmed Frank Lampard has promoted him permanently to the Chelsea first team.

The 18-year-old has made two Premier League appearances so far this season and will be looking to add to that tally after the winter break.

The Scottish teenager was told by Lampard after joining the Blues squad for their 2-2 draw at Leicester last weekend.

“It's a massive moment for me and I'm really happy,” he said.

“It's the first big step I think, moving into the first team dressing room at a club like Chelsea.”

  • TAKE ME BAK

Tiemoue Bakoyoko would rush back to AC Milan if given the chance, says Calciomercato.

The Chelsea midfielder is on-loan at Monaco this season after spending last term in Serie A.

Bakoyoko, 25, was even in attendance to watch his former club face Inter in the Milan derby on Sunday.

The Frenchman seems unlikely to feature again at Stamford Bridge with Monaco holding an option to buy but should he return to London he may be available at a cut-price fee for the Rossoneri after the Italian outfit were unwilling to match Chelsea's asking price last summer.
