This DC Comics controversy isn’t going down without an oral argument.

Just when the public thought “Batman Forever” star Val Kilmer, 61, had closed the book on the great Caped Crusader cunnilingus debate, Zack Snyder, 55, took things even further — by sharing an image of the Dark Knight actually performing the dirty deed. His NSFW Snyder cut has spawned nearly 220,000 likes — and plenty of pearl-clutching — on Twitter, in less than 24 hours.

The controversial “Justice League” director was weighing in on the ongoing superhero soap opera, in which the creators of the R-rated Batman spinoff “Harley Quinn” were reportedly forced to cut a scene of the Dark Knight performing oral sex on Catwoman. Justin Halpern, executive producer and co-creator of the DC Entertainment-HBO Max series, had said that “In this third season of ‘Harley,’ we had a moment where Batman was going down on Catwoman.”

However, the steamy scene was shot down by censors who said the sex act was something “heroes don’t do,” Halpern claimed. The “Powerless” writer added that when he asked, “‘Are you saying heroes are just selfish lovers?,’ they were like, ‘No, it’s that we sell consumer toys for heroes. It’s hard to sell a toy if Batman is also going down on someone.’”

The decision did indeed spark a raging debate over whether the Dark Knight is a selfish lover.

Snyder, for one, made his position on the matter crystal clear: He tweeted a very graphic illustration of Batman pleasuring his feline frenemy (viewer discretion advised), which he described as “Canon” in the caption.

The salacious fan fiction sparked a fervor among Batfans, who lauded the auteur over the audacious move.

“Zack you legend, you maniac, you absolute masterclass,” wrote one DC die-hard of the risque depiction.

“Lmfao alright, respect on this one. this owns,” gushed another awestruck fan.

Other Snyder supporters thought that the stunt warranted restoring the Snyderverse, the slate of DC films — including “Man Of Steel” and the now-released “Justice League: Snyder Cut” — that the “Army of the Dead” director had helmed before getting booted from the franchise.

“This one’s for the all the heroes out there!” quipped one comment section comedian in an apparent shoutout to the world’s most generous lovers.

It’s no surprise Snyder falls on this side of the oral argument — considering he recently expressed a desire to make a religious porno inspired by his hit 2007 swords-and-sandals epic “300.” And he’s also not the first DC alum to suggest that Batman has a taste for oral action.

“Batman Forever” star Kilmer — who played the legendary Dark Knight in Joel Schumacher’s 1995 film — indicated the Caped Crusader is always up for going down in a Wednesday tweet.

“After posing the query “Does he or doesn’t he…?” in his caption, Kilmer posted a GIF clip of him and “Batman Forever” co-star Nicole Kidman.

In it, Kilmer’s captioned Batman utters the fitting line “We could give it a try — I’ll bring the wine.”
