Woman who hated 'saggy' bum has £5K non-surgical lunchtime butt lift

Woman, 44, who did ‘endless squats’ in a bid to tone her ‘saggy’ bottom reveals how she transformed her derriere with a £5,000 ‘lunchtime butt lift’ collagen injection

  • Sarah Blake, 44, from Lancashire trained 5-7 times a week but still didn’t like bum
  • Not wanting to go under the knife, tried a brand-new treatment called Lanluma
  • Promises the same results as surgery but without the risk of a Brazilian butt lift
  • Says was shocked by the results which left bottom perkier and more voluminous

A woman who hated her ‘saggy’ bum has claimed a non-surgical ‘lunchtime butt-lift’ has transformed her derriere.

Sarah Blake, 44, from Lancashire, would work out up to seven days a week and did endless squats in the quest for a perkier, firmer bottom, but struggled achieve her desired look.

While she felt the rest of her looked younger than her years, she feared her bum carried an ‘age stamp’ and decided to take action.

Not wanting to go under the knife, she tried a brand new treatment called Lanluma, which promises the same results as surgery in a fraction of the time. It also claims to be a safer alternative to the Brazilian Butt Lift fat transfer technique.

Costing from £5,000, Lanluma is an injectable poly-L-Lactic acid (PLLA) collagen stimulant designed to add volume and reshape the buttock area, enhancing its natural curve.

Sarah told FEMAIL: ‘I work out six or seven times each week – whether it’s with my personal trainer, at yoga sessions or hour-long gym sessions and not forgetting my two dog walks a day.

‘I’ve always felt comfortable with my body and I’ve always felt that I looked younger than my years, but when I hit my forties I felt as if my bum had my age stamp on it, while the rest of me looked younger.

‘I spent hours trying to train my bum in the gym but no amount of squats could fill the indents that I had at the side of my bum and help to lift it to how it was in my thirties.

Sarah said she drove home and by the next morning she felt no pain at all after the procedure, and is now keen to show off her new bottom in a bikini

‘So when I heard about the launch of Lanluma, I quickly snapped up an appointment to see Dr Martin Kinsella at his clinic Re-Enhance in Altrincham, Cheshire to try it for myself.’

A safer alternative to ‘the world’s most dangerous cosmetic procedure’

Since 2015, the number of butt lifts performed globally has grown by 77.6 per cent, according to a survey by the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery.

While it’s the fastest-growing cosmetic surgery in the world, the procedure doesn’t come without risks.

In 2017, a paper published in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal revealed that three per cent of the 692 surgeons surveyed had experienced the death of a patient after performing the surgery.

Overall, one in 3,000 BBLs resulted in death, making it the world’s most dangerous cosmetic procedure – and yet interest for the procedure continues to sky-rocket.

‘The premise for the treatment is simple,’ explained Dr Kinsella. ‘This isn’t a filler – we use Lanluma to increase the collagen within the buttocks, so we’re turning back the clock on the bum and adding volume that has been lost over the years.’

Sarah told how Dr Kinsella began the treatment by marking up her bottom with a white crayon and administered a few local anaesthetic injections.

He injected the product swiftly into my left bum cheek and within less than five minutes he said, “Come on then, stand up! Let’s look at the difference between each side!”‘ she recalled.

‘There was a remarkable difference between each side – the indent had gone and the whole shape was more lifted and smooth.

‘He did the same on the second side and a further five minutes later I stood up to admire my new derriere in the mirror.

‘I must admit that I was surprised to see that my bum had regained its lost volume and the indents at the side had completely vanished.’

Sarah admitted that she was glad she didn’t emerge looking like a ‘a caricature of Kim Kardashian’, adding: ‘It was still very much me.’

Dr Kinsella explained that the treatment is about enhancing confidence while ‘remaining within the realms of “normal” rather than aiming to completely change and distort our natural body shape’.

Sarah said she drove home and by the next morning she felt no pain at all.

‘At worst the skin was a little tender from the injections,’ she recalled. ‘The results will now only get better as the collagen in my bum increases, which means I’m now onto my next mission, to find a new bikini to show it off!’

Sam told how she would do sessions with a personal trainer, yoga, hour-long gym workouts and walked her dog twice a day, but didn’t see much impact on her bottom
