Who will play the next James Bond? A look at all the famous names rumoured to take over iconic 007 role

There’s been a lot of chatter over the last year or so about who will replace Daniel Craig as the next James Bond, and it seems recently the rumour mill has been hotting up more than usual.
The next movie, No Time To Die, has been delayed as a result of coronavirus, but it hasn’t stopped people throwing names into a hat and attempting to guess who will replace Daniel in the iconic role.
Daniel Craig has played the part since his debut in 2006 in Casino Royale, but he’s due to make his final appearance in No Time To Die.

Currently, we’ve heard an array of names thrown about, with James Norton taking centre stage as the bookies’ favourite.
Of course, the role could also go to a female actress, with a number of ladies admitting they’d adore the chance to take on James Bond, from Kristen Stewart to Gillian Anderson.
But who else is in the running? Let’s take a look…
Alongside James Norton, it seems Sam Heughan is a big favourite to take over the role.
He’s already played a Bond-like character in The Spy Who Dumped Me and he’s said playing Bond would be the “dream role.”
The Scottish star lost out to Daniel Craig after previously auditioning for the part, but is his time now? We shall see…

Avengers star Tom Hiddleston is a big name in Hollywood, renowned for his acting… and his relationship with Taylor Swift!
Tom is also a big contender for the role of Bond.
Game of Thrones star and the protagonist of hit show Bodyguard, Richard Madden, is another contender for the role.
His co-star Keeley Hawes shared her support for Richard recently, telling Radio Times: “I said to Richard while we were shooting, “This is like James Bond!” I would love to see Richard playing James Bond; I would love that.”
So, will Madden be ordering a Martini shaken not stirred? Watch this space!
Recently, Tom Hardy’s name has surfaced for the role of Bond a lot more than usual.
The Hollywood star, who has starred in the likes of The Revenant, The Dark Knight Rises and Legend, is undeniably a fantastic fit for the part and it seems The Vulcan Reporter think so too, as they broke the news that Tom would take over from Daniel recently.
Before you get excited, however, the news is yet to be confirmed.
Idris’ name seems to crop up whenever the topic of a Bond replacement surfaces, so it could well be that the actor is set to snatch the role.
The incredibly talented star’s name started to swirl around after producer Barbara Broccoli discussed casting a non-white actor for the role.
Could it be Idris?

Speaking about Bond in the past, the actor quipped: “I’m a massive Daniel Craig fan and I don’t think he should ever stop doing it. Bond dealing with age is a brilliant idea and I think we should go the whole way until Daniel’s 85.”
It sounds like Jack would bring humour to the role!
We adore Jodie Comer in Killing Eve and we’re sure we’d adore her just as much playing Bond.
The Actress has high odds in the 00-women gang so never say never.
Angelina Jolie and Emilia Clarke are also actresses associated with the idea of a female Bond, as is Emily Blunt.
