Which B&M stores are closing down and are there sales on?

B&M is known for its great bargains – and you can get even bigger discounts in its closing down sales.

Shoppers have recently been stalking the aisles for mega deals in a number of B&M branches that have closed down over this year.

We explain which shops have shut their doors this year so far – and if any more will close too.

Which B&M stores are closing down?

Last weekend saw shoppers flock to B&M's branch in Rugby's Clock Towers Shopping Centre to bag a bargain haul.

The shop was advertising 50% off everything as it tried to shift the last of its stock before closing for good on Saturday.

One shopper took to the Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK Facebook group to post about the items she got at rock bottom prices.

The shopper said she should have paid £234 for her haul, but instead, she paid £116 because of the clearance discounts.

It meant she got her Christmas shopping sorted for less.

It's not the only store that has closed this year.

One store in Glasgow saw even bigger discounts of up to 75% off in a big sale before it shut its doors for good.

Shoppers were spotted queuing outside the branch to rummage through the deals.

However, B&M has confirmed that it is not planning to close anymore stores.

Are there other sales on at other branches?

As B&M has confirmed that no other stores will be closing, you won't be able to make the most of any clearance sales.

But that doesn't mean that you can't bag a bargain in one of the retailer's sales.

If you're shopping online, head to B&M's website and click on the "offers" tab.

Here, you'll be able to see all the current discounts on offer.

When we checked what bargains you could bag, we saw up to a third had been knocked off the price of furniture, toys and gifts.

This children's chest of drawers set is £10, down from £15, while this fire rescue toy set is £16, down from £20.

For £20, you can get this games console and save yourself a fiver, while these Skullcandy bluetooth headphones are £20, down from £25.

If you're looking to shop in your local store for bargains, make sure you check ahead to see if there are any sales in stores.

You can find your nearest B&M using the retailer's online store locator tool.

How else can I bag discounts?

There are other hacks you can use to get money knocked off your shopping at B&M.

Shoppers have been raving about the B&M app which can help you nab huge discounts on items that actually cost much less than they’re labelled on the shelves.

It involves using a barcode scanner to check the real price of products in store.

Here's how you to use the app:

  • Download the B&M app for free via the App Store or Google Play.
  • Once you've signed up, click on the tab labelled "more" on the bottom right-hand side of the app home page.
  • Click on "barcode scanner" to open a camera screen.
  • Hover over the barcode of the product you want to check.
  • If the price comes up as lower, take it to the till – it will automatically scan at the lower price.
  • You don't need to sign up to the B&M app to use the barcode scanner.

Shopping at particular times can also help you to get money off your haul too.
