What time do Aldi branches open and close?

Aldi stores are typically open from 8am to 10pm on weekdays and Saturday

Sunday opening hours are likely to be shorter because of trading laws and Aldi is usually open between 11am and 5pm.

Opening hours were shortened when coronavirus first hit but have now returned to normal, allowing more customers to shop during less busy times.

The store's busiest times are between 11am to 3pm, and the quietest times to shop are between 7pm and 10pm, though this can vary between branches.

Aldi is one of several shops operating a traffic light policy at store entrances, so you'll be able to enter when the green light shows on screens above the door.

If it's red you will have to wait for someone to exit the store before you can enter.

Shoppers must also be wearing a face mask to enter an Aldi store, except those who are exempt for medical reasons.

You can find your nearest Aldi branch by using its store locator tool.

This will also tell you the exact opening times for your chosen store.

Don't forget that opening hours can also vary if it's a bank holiday.

Here’s how to cut the cost of your grocery shop

SAVING on your shop can make a big difference to your wallet. Here are some tips from Money.co.uk about how you can cut the cost of your shopping bills:

  • Write yourself a list – Only buy items that you need. If it isn’t on your list, don’t put it in the trolley
  • Create a budget – Work out a weekly budget for your food shopping
  • Never shop hungry – you are far more likely to buy  more food if your tummy is rumbling
  • Don’t buy pre-chopped veggies or fruit – The extra they’ll charge for chopping can be eye watering
  • Use social media – follow your favourite retailers to find out about the latest deals
  • Be disloyal – You may want to go to different stores to find the best bargains
  • Check the small print –  It’s always worth checking the price per kg/lb/litre when comparing offers so you’re making a like for like decision as a bigger box won’t necessarily mean you get more
  • Use your loyalty cards – Don’t be afraid to sign up to them all. They all work slightly differently – work out what bonus suits you better and remember to trade in your points for additional rewards

Does Aldi have special opening hours?

Aldi launched special opening hours last year because of the coronavirus pandemic, but these have since been axed, it confirmed to The Sun.

These were designed to help elderly and vulnerable shoppers get their grocery shop more safely.

Emergency service workers, including NHS, Police and Fire Service workers, could also take advantage of these priority hours along with social workers, first responders, St John's Ambulance staff and Age UK volunteers.

Now the pandemic is easing, with lockdown lifting gradually and more people being vaccinated, these priority hours were ditched.

When is the best time to shop at Aldi?

Google has a very handy tracker which you can use to see Aldi's busiest and quietest times, on any day of the week.

If you search for “Aldi” using Google search, and then click on your nearest store, it will show chart of the store’s busiest times for each hour of the day it is opening.

It can also show you live information and whether it is busier than usual for that time of day.

Aldi has said their quietest times are usually in the evening, between 7pm and 10pm.

Is there a limit on Aldi items?

There are no longer any limits on items or restrictions on the amount you can purchase.

During the first lockdown, Aldi implemented a four items per shopper limit on all products.

Can I order online shopping from Aldi?

You can't order groceries online from Aldi in the same way as other supermarkets.

In some locations you can use Deliveroo to order Aldi groceries for delivery to your door within as little as 30 minutes.

You will have to pay for delivery and how much that costs can depend on your location.

The delivery fee is around £4.50 and then there's a service fee of around 30p.

The price of items available on Deliveroo from Aldi can be more than you'll find in store.

For non-grocery items you can buy online directly from Aldi.

The range available for online purchases depends on availability and often includes Specialbuys.

Standard delivery is free for orders over £30 or costs £2.95 for orders under that amount.

For £3.95, you can get a next day delivery on any order placed before 7pm on Monday-Friday.

Does Aldi offer click and collect?

You can now order your groceries online and pick them up at Aldi stores using click and collect service.

Aldi's click and collect costs between £3.99 and £4.99.

There's no difference between prices in store.

Not all Aldi stores offer click and collect and you can check using this tool where your nearest Aldi offering the click and collect service is.

You just need to pick the store nearest to you and choose a time slot to pick up your shopping.

When you arrive, park up in a click and collect bay, reply to the text you received about your order and someone will bring your shopping to your car.

Meanwhile, a Sun investigation revealed that Tesco shoppers with a clubcard can save up to 50% for the same goods.
