What does Cyber Monday mean and where can I get the best deals 2019? – The Sun

FOR those who didn't manage to get their fill of bargains on Black Friday – there's always Cyber Monday, the online sale extravaganza.

The shopping event is TODAY and we've rounded up everything you need to know.

What is Cyber Monday?

Hot on the heels of Black Friday, Cyber Monday is a day when retailers slash their prices online.

For 24 hours some of the country's biggest stores take part in the online sale event, which comes directly after Black Friday.

Customers often bookmark the products they have their eye on and set alarms for the exact moment the sales launch on each site.

With so much choice out there, it can be easy to pay more than you need to for a product while caught up in the shopping frenzy.

It's important to do your research and be sure that you really are getting a good deal rather than taking the store's word for it when they say it's the best price.

The trick is to be prepared with a list of what you'd like and do your research before completing your purchase.

When is Cyber Monday 2019?

Cyber Monday is always the Monday after Black Friday – and as the name suggests it's about the offers online.

It was created by marketing companies to encourage people to shop online.

Traditionally, Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving – an American holiday which falls on the fourth Thursday in November.

This year, the event is on Friday November 29, and Cyber Monday is Monday December 2.

Often retailers will keep their sale running throughout the weekend, so savvy shoppers can also bag bargains on the Saturday and Sunday between.

In Britain, it's considered to be one of the biggest internet shopping days of the year, as retailers pack their websites with oodles of offers.
