TikTok user reveals cleaning hack for spotless oven trays
VODKA isn’t just essential for a wild night on the town, you can use this spirit to clean almost anything. Use any leftover Vodka or purchase a fresh bottle of cheap Vodka for tough cleaning tasks. Express.co.uk chatted to Lynsey Queen of Clean (@lynsey_queenofclean on Instagram) to find out 10 Vodka cleaning hacks.
Forget bicarbonate of soda, lemon, white vinegar, and citric acid… vodka is one of the most versatile cleaners.
Lynsey said: “Did you know that Vodka makes a powerful disinfectant and makes a great degreaser?
“You can also use Vodka to make a great deodoriser.”
Lynsey listed 10 ways to use Vodka in your home, from degreasing to disinfecting.

Make your own spray
Mix some vodka with water and your favourite essential oil in a spray bottle to make a cleaning spray.
This solution will freshen upholstery and fabrics in no time.
Lynsey said: “It’s always worth testing a small patch first but this trick should work just fine.
“Also don’t worry about that horrible alcohol smell – the smell will evaporate quickly.”
Room Diffuser
We all want our homes to smell lovely, and you can use Vodka to make a diffuser.
Fill up an old diffuser container with the spray recipe mentioned above.
Add a mix of your favourite essential oils and that’s it.
Soap scum and watermarks
Bathrooms and prone to soap scum and watermarks and both are tricky to remove.
Lynsey said: “Use Vodka only in a spray bottle for shower doors, tiles, draining boards and taps.
“Leave it for around 10 to 15 minutes before you rinse it off to allow the vodka to get to work.”
Greasy cooking trays and pans
Cleaning food out of pans is really difficult, especially if it is burnt!
Lynsey said: “Add a few drops of vodka to greasy oven trays or pots and the Vodka will cut right through the grease to make scrubbing a whole lot easier.”

Sticky Labels
Lynsey said: “I always find it so frustrating when a sticky label won’t fully come off a new pair of shoes.
“In this scenario, or if the kids have gone mad with a packet of stickers and stuck them all over their bedroom door, you’ll need some vodka.
“Put some neat vodka on a cloth and a simple wipe will easily remove those left on marks.”
Garden weeds
Make your own weed killer with vodka and water.
Lynsey said: “Mix vodka and water and a quick spray will kill those unwanted weeds.”
Keep flowers fresh
It’s such a shame when a beautiful bouquet of flowers dies, but you can prolong the life of flowers with a splash of vodka.
Lynsey said: “I always do this my Nan told me to be this years ago.
“Add a drop of vodka into your vase of flowers to help keep them for longer or to perk up wilting flowers.”
Glass cleaning
Forget white vinegar, use vodka to clean your windows.
Lynsey said: “Neat vodka in a spray bottle will bring your glass up really shiny.”
Chrome and Jewellery
According to Lynsey, vodka works well when combined with a microfiber cloth and will shine up chrome and jewellery.
Stains
Vodka is an excellent stain remover and you can use it in your washing machine.
Lynsey said: “Stain removal is one of my favourite uses for vodka.
“This is why you should keep a small bottle in your laundry cupboard.
“Add neat vodka onto your stains, it’s brilliant at removing blood, grass, sick, and felt pens stains from clothing.”
