Undercover Police: Hunting Paedophiles viewers slammed a pervert for ‘fake fainting’ at a police station after he was caught trying to meet a child at a KFC – adding that it wasn’t ‘fooling’ anyone.

Last night’s episode of the Channel 4 show followed an officer who assumed a new identity as Oli, a gay 14-year-old boy from Bedfordshire seeking to explore his newfound sexuality on social media platforms.

It wasn’t long before he was contacted by a number of adult men, some of whom continued engaging with him even when he revealed to them that he was a child.

As the conversations quickly turned sexual, the team behind the undercover officer raced to identify the app users who were trying to arrange to sexually abuse ‘Oli’ – including teaching assistant Steven Johnson, then 59, from Dunstable.

But when Johnson was eventually caught, handcuffed and taken to the station, he was seen leaning on the front desk with his head in his arms, before appearing to fall to the ground – but viewers weren’t having any of it.

‘That fake fainting ain’t fooling anyone you scumbag!!!’ wrote one, while a second penned: ‘Nice to see the fainting paedo is a teaching assistant, of all things…. FFS.’

In last night’s episode of Channel 4’s Undercover Police: Hunting Paedophiles, teaching assistant Steven Johnson fainted at a police station after he was caught trying to meet a child at a KFC

Two police officers identified Johnson in his car and instructed him to get out before handcuffing him, to which the shocked teaching assistant pleaded: ‘I can’t do this’ (pictured)

Taking to Twitter, one viewer penned: ‘That fake fainting ain’t fooling anyone you scumbag!’ (pictured)

A third added: That crying paedo, is he expecting that people will feel sorry for him!?!’ while a fourth wrote: ‘Steven is only crying because he got caught.’

During the harrowing episode, Johnson could be seen messaging the undercover officer writing: ‘You looking for fun?’

The cop posing as a 14-year-old boy made his age clear and responded: ‘Yeah I am but I’m 14, if I’m too young for you that’s chill.’

Despite being aware that he was only a child, the teaching assistant continued to exchange messages with ‘Oli’ and wrote: ‘We can find quiet place where no one about just w**k and suck.’

The ‘boy’ explained he was concerned about his age and worried about getting caught, so suggested meeting at KFC.

Urging Johnson to calm down, the undercover cops took Johnson to the police station, where he could be seen being offered water (pictured), before fainting and falling to the ground.

After coming around, Johnson (pictured) was taken into questioning, where he could be seen crying with his head in his hands.

After Johnson agreed that was the place they’d meet, the undercover team set off to arrest him at the scene.

Two police officers identified Johnson in his car and instructed him to get out before handcuffing him, to which the shocked teaching assistant pleaded: ‘I can’t do this.’

Urging Johnson to calm down, the undercover cops took Johnson to the police station, where he could be seen being offered water, before fainting and falling to the ground.

After coming around, he was taken into questioning, and began crying with his head in his hands.

Cops asked him how old he thought the person he had been exchanging sexual messages was, to which Johnson responded: ‘I assumed he was 18. I thought I was chatting to an 18-year-old.’

Taking to the comments section, one person penned: ‘Not a teaching assistant any more is he. Very different kind of register for the next 10 years’ (pictured)

A police officer went on to question why he thought this was the case when he had been told he was 14.

Johnson replied: ‘Maybe… I don’t know.’

And viewers were left raging when Johnson pleaded guilty to arranging a child sex offence and attempted sexual communication with a child – and was sentenced to just two-and-a-half years in prison.

‘So the investigators and police do the amazing and tough job of finding these disgusting human beings for judges to just let them off with ridiculous sentences. They deserve to be locked up for life,’ wrote one, while a second penned:

‘How can any judge sleep at night, after giving someone a community order for child sex offences? Shocking and sickening.’

A third added: ‘Our justice system seriously needs a shake up,’ while a fourth agreed: ‘The sentencing for these paedophiles are just beyond a joke. You’d do more time for not paying your TV licence.’
