Tesco is selling a glittery rhubarb gin – and it only costs £6

GIN drinkers looking for a sparkling option on the cheap will want to head to Tesco right now.

The supermarket is selling a glittery rhubarb and rosehip gin liqueur and it'll only set you back £6.

The booze from Fox & Foreman is currently on offer, down from £7, meaning it's a great time to stock up ahead of the summer months.

It can be found both in stores and online, where it's sold at a discount until May 6.

The bottles contain 20cl and they come with an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 20 per cent.

They were spotted by Facebook group Money Saver Online, and its followers are loving it.

One user said: "It’s gorgeous tastes just like rhubarb and custard sweets, so moorish with lemonade."

While another wrote: "We have been drinking this for months it’s fabulous with Prosecco."

Other major supermarkets in the UK are also selling rhubarb gins, but they don't come with the glittery effect.

But if you're not fussed about this, the options work out cheaper per litre.

Asda is selling a 50cl rhubarb and ginger gin liqueur for £12, while Morrisons is selling a similar 70cl gin by Whitley Neill for £20.

In the last ten years sales of gin – affectionately known as Mother's Ruin – have tripled.

Drinkers spent £461million on gin last year, up by 32.5 per cent on the year, according to the Office for National Statistics.

The rise in popularity has meant thousands of different flavours have been created, including Hubba Bubba and even a glittery pink unicorn gin that tastes of marshmallows.

Last month, Aldi started selling a purple glittery gin that tastes of parma violets for £10.
