Tamera Mowry-Housley, Bill Yosses to Host New Hulu Baking Competition

Actor and TV personality Tamera Mowry-Housley and chef Bill Yosses will host a new Hulu Original baking competition, “Baker’s Dozen.” The unscripted series will consist of eight hourlong episodes and join the Disney-owned streaming platform’s growing slate of food shows like “Taste the Nation” with Padma Lakshmi and the upcoming “The Next Thing You Eat” from Momofuku restaurateur David Chang.

In each episode, passionate amateur bakers will go head to head with seasoned professionals in fast-paced challenges that will determine which of the 13 bakers has what it takes to create the next viral baking sensation, win the golden rolling pin trophy and take home a grand cash prize. “Baker’s Dozen” is executive produced by Bright Spot Content CEO Sandy Varo Jarrell, along with Suzanne Rauscher, Justin Rae Barnes and Tara Seiner.

“We are proud to collaborate with the brilliant team at Hulu to serve up ‘Baker’s Dozen,’ Bright Spot Content’s first newly created series since our recent launch within All3Media America,” Jarrell said in a statement on Thursday. “With people escaping into baking during the last unprecedented year, the time seems right to pit talented self-taught home bakers against trained professionals in this fast-paced, feel-good competition.”

Mowry-Housley is known for Hallmark’s morning talk show “Home & Family” and movie “Christmas Comes Twice,” for her child-star days on the hit sitcom “Sister, Sister,” as well as the Fox talk show “The Real,” which she’s co-hosted for nearly seven years. Yosses is an author and was the White House Executive Pastry Chef from 2007 to 2014.
