Stacey Solomon likens her sleek hair to ‘Afghan Hound’ before debuting mermaid waves

Stacey Solomon usually wears her red hair straight and sleek, but this week she’s switched up her style with the help of a hot tool – and the final look is simply “mermazing”.

The mum-of-three – and soon to be four – jokingly tells her Instagram followers that it’s been “about three weeks” since she last washed her hair, and that despite loving a clean, straight style, she’s more than ready for a texture change.

“I’m going to curl it [my hair] with these mermaid curlers. I love having straight and clean hair but I feel a bit like an Afghan Hound,” Stacey captions the short Instagram Story video.

The 31 year old then pastes a picture of an Afghan Hound over the video, to show followers exactly what she means. Though a little far-fetched (no pun intended), this breed of dog is famed for its silky coat, so we can see why Stace has drawn a comparison.

Showing the camera her chosen hair styler, Beauty Works Jumbo Waver Island Edition, on sale for £70 here, Stacey then proceeds to transform her pedigree lengths into stunning mermaid waves.

She makes the process look incredibly simple, picking up thick sections of hair and clamping them with the hot tool. Once she’s given every section a wave, Stace shows a close up still of the final look. We can confirm it’s not got a hint of hound to it.

It seems the former X Factor star has been having a bit of a beauty-heavy week, as she’s also been on her Stories showing followers how she sorts her makeup and brushes.

One of the handiest hacks she reveals is how she stores her nail varnishes. Instead of putting them in a cupboard and forgetting the shades at the back, she places the bottles in an ice cube tray.

Stacey also repurposes a perspex egg holder to sit her beauty blending sponges on. Genius.

“All done. My brain feels so much better. I can wait to have a proper dressing table but for now this is perfect,” she says, showing off the final look of her perfectly organised dresser top.
