Anybody who's been keeping an eye on the gaming world over the past year will know that the PS5 has been very, very hard to come by ever since its release.

The question gamers are asking is this: will the PS5 become available on Black Friday, and (better still), will it be on offer?

When the PS5 launched in the UK in November 2020, it sold out instantly, and while are regular(ish) stock drops from retailers like Amazon, GAME, Smyths Toys and Argos, they haven't been enough to quench the public appetite.

These stock issues, which are due to a worldwide shortage of semiconductor chips, have plagued the PS5 since its launch, and gamers are growing increasingly frustrated at the scarcity of the latest generation of PlayStation.

Will the PS5 be in stock for Black Friday?

This is something we can't guarantee, and we urge gamers to stay realistic in their expectations of bagging a PS5 this Black Friday.

Of course, Sony will want to ship as many consoles to as many suppliers across the globe as possible – this is the number one sales event of the year, after all.

Back in May, we even reported that Sony is redesigning the PS5, with the new version of the console being less reliant on these scarce components.

It's not impossible that if retailers receieve stock in the coming months, they will hold some back for the Black Friday period.

Our advice is to bookmark this page and keep coming back to it, in both the lead-up and during Black Friday – we'll be keep it up-to-date with all the latest PS5 deals that appear.

How much will the PS5 cost on Black Friday?

The Disk Edition of the PS5 has an RRP of £449.99, while the Digital Edition costs £359.99.

It's sold (when in stock) by the following retailers:

  1. Amazon – shop for PS5 here
  2. Argos – shop for PS5 here
  3. AO – shop for PS5 here
  4. Currys PC World – shop for PS5 here
  5. Laptops Direct – shop for PS5 here
  6. Smyths Toys – shop for PS5 here
  7. Very – shop for PS5 here

Stock issues aside, we're doubtful these prices will be lowered during Black Friday, since the consumer appetite is high to say the least.

If the console is to be found cheaper anywhere, it's in bundles where one or more games are also included – scroll down to find out more about what PS5 deals are likely to be found this year.

What PS5 deals to expect on Black Friday

Like we say, we don't think there'll be many outright deals on the PS5 console itself.

Instead, you're more likely to find price drops on PS5 games and accessories.

We're confident there'll be some deals on the DualSense Wireless Controller, which is currently £55.99 on Amazon.

The same will probably apply to the PS5 Fast Charging Station (currently £16.14) and the Pulse 3D Wireless headset (currently £78).

Then there's a whole range of PS5 titles like Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Assassin's Creed: Valhalla and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.

When is Black Friday 2021?

This year, Black Friday takes place on November 26, which is the day directly after American Thanksgiving.

The busiest shopping day of the year is, after all, a US import – it started in the States back in the 1960s, and has slowly grown in popularity in the UK over the last decade or so.

However, you can expect deals to appear online as early as the beginning of November – each year, retailers get keener and keener to roll out their sales earlier than their rivals.

When is Cyber Monday 2021?

Cyber Monday takes place on the other side of the weekend that immediately follows Black Friday – so this year that's November 29.

Traditionally, it was a day for online-only deals – hence the (slightly old-fashioned) name.

But online shopping has boomed in the last few years, so in reality there's very little difference between the deals you'll find on Black Friday and those you'll find on Cyber Monday.

It's a day when retailers tend to put out the final wave of deals, or reduce prices on remaining stock even further.
