Princess Beatrice pictured with new boyfriend ‘on same island he proposed to ex’

Princess Beatrice and her millionaire boyfriend have been pictured together for the first time – at the same paradise island where he reportedly popped the question to his ex.

The 30-year-old and her beau Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi looked smitten as they strolled hand in hand and felt the sand between their toes while on a beach in Lamum, near Kenya.

Beatrice, dressed in a black swimsuit and sarong, was later seen flinging her arms around the 35-year-old and chatting ‘animatedly’ to Edo’s mother, according to onlookers.

The pair arrived on the Island shortly after Christmas and were joined by family and friends.

On New Year’s eve a beaming Beatrice was seen dancing on a hotel bar after the clock struck midnight.

The secluded tropical location is where Edo’s family owns a luxury coastal estate – and where he is said to have proposed in 2015 to his ex and mother of his child, Dara Huang.

They had also planned to marry there, according to reports.

However, his romance with the successful architect is understood to have crumbled earlier this year.

Beatrice’s relationship with Edo, was revealed in November, leaving Dara’s mother ‘broken to pieces.’

He was reportedly still living with Dara and their son when the relationship with Beatrice began.

He popped the question to the 37-year-old three years ago and together they have a two-year-old son named Christopher ‘Woolfie’ Woolf.

However, their split and Edo’s new relationship with Beatrice left Dara’s mother Lily, 69, heartbroken.

"I love Edo. I love his family. Why has this happened? This has broken me to bits," she told the Daily Mail last year.

"Before this, my daughter was happy. But I am a Christian. I told my daughter: ‘You have to bless people, you bless them, don’t be mad. Wish them good luck.’"

Lily also believes her daughter was shocked when the relationship came to an end.

Beatrice and Edo have known each other for years through their families and reportedly started dating in September, just a few weeks before Princess Eugenie’s wedding to Jack Brooksbank.

A source told the Daily Mail the Queen’s granddaughter would never have been become involved with him if his former relationship hadn’t come to a complete end.

They said: "She would never allow herself to break into another couple’s happiness, especially if there was a small child."

Talented architect Dara, a successful businesswoman who has her own design company, hadn’t told all her family about their split and her mother Lily didn’t know about the separation until a few months ago.

Speaking to the Mail, she said: "I think Dara was hiding it from me. She didn’t want me to be sad. I am shocked."

Dara has a master’s degree in architecture from Harvard University and has won a number of awards during a shining career including four RIBA competition recognitions as well as inclusion in BBC China’s 100 Women.

Beatrice had been single since 2016, when she split with long-term partner Dave Clark, who she had been with for a decade.

Uber executive Mr Clark married Lynn Anderson in July last year.
