Online lover gives mixed signals and says her ex has moved back in

DEAR DEIDRE: I’M getting mixed signals from my online lover. Should I cut my losses and walk away?

I downloaded Bumble during the third lockdown to get over my ex.

After swiping right for weeks with no success, I was ready to give up.

Then I got a message from a gorgeous mum-of-one. She’s 34, I’m 37.

We’ve been talking every day for five weeks.

But last week she said her ex was moving back in to help take care of their son, who’s three.

She insists they aren’t getting back together and that she’s “all in” with me.

But since breaking the news, her replies have been blunter and come less often.

DEIDRE SAYS: The problem with messaging is that it can be easy to misinterpret what the other person is saying.

The change in her replies suggests she might not be feeling the connection as strongly as you.

She might have been using her ex moving back in as a way to let you down gently.

But you will only know what she thinks if you come out and ask.

In case things then don’t go the way you hope, I am sending you my support pack Finding The Right Partner For You to help when you are ready to try again.
