Has lockdown left you feeling out of practice when it comes to styling your kid’s hair for school? Myleene Klass is here to save the day, with a mum-approved hair hack that is sure to cut down styling time in the morning rush.

The presenter, 42, took to Instagram to share a snap of a gorgeous braid she had created for her step-daughter, confessing that she styles her kids’ hair the night before, to “save doing it in the morning.”

“Forgot to post the back-to-school hair I did on my S-daughter,” she writes.

“I do all the girls’ hair at night, then put tights on their head for them to sleep in. Tights keep it all in place like a dream.”

Myleene styled her step-daughter’s hair into a three-part french braid – a cool yet practical look for heading back to school.

The star revealed that her 9-year-old daughter Hero actually came up with the design, telling fans, ““Hero designed the look. Love it.”

While braiding hair can be quite time-consuming before the morning school run, Myleene’s overnight hack certainly saves heaps of time.

If you’re not feeling confident enough in your braiding skills to tackle three separate braids like Myleene, why not try the hack out with a simpler design?

Applying tights to the hairstyle overnight should stop the braids from coming apart while they sleep, and cuts down on frizz.

The former Hear'Say singer is always sharing family content to her Instagram account, including videos of herself playing various musical instruments with her two daughters Hero, and Ava, aged 13.

In her latest clip, the star expressed anxiety at how her youngest daughter felt about returning to school, confessing that she “just had a big old cry with Hero putting her to bed.”

“She’s feeling anxious about going back to school and I know how she feels as despite lockdown and homeschooling bringing its own mega challenges to us all, it’s been a privilege to be able to spend extra time with my girls.”

Now that Myleene’s, and our own, kids are back to school, let’s hope that the star shares more time-saving hair hacks.
