M&S launches new FIZZY-flavoured Percy Pigs

But be warned that the pig tails are made to exactly the same recipe as the non-limited edition versions, so it's only the packaging that's been given a makeover.

The fizzy sweets have been introduced to celebrate Chinese New Year on February 5 and the beginning of the year of the pig.

They're made from berry juices with a sour hint, and you can pick up a packet for just £1.65 in stores now – the same price as the regular version.

If you really fancying pigging out, you can currently get your hands on two packets for the bargain price of £3 – a 30p saving.

You can buy the packs in one of M&S' 979 stores in the UK, while stocks last. To find the nearest shop use M&S' store locator tool.

Last year, M&S marked Percy Pig's 25th anniversary.

The supermarket says it sells over 300million individual Percy Pig sweets each year, which equates to approximately 10 every second.

If you line them up ear to ear, Percy becomes quite the globetrotter, stretching all the way to Beijing and back.

This isn't the first time Percy Pig sweets have had seasonal makeovers.

Last year, Percy Pig was joined by the Easter Bunny in special limited edition packs, so we might see new characters hopping in again this year.

For Valentine's Day Percy got to take part in his very own celebrity wedding, tying the knot with his girlfriend Penny.

But new Government plans to tackle childhood obesity could spell the end for Percy and other cartoon-based sweets.

Earlier this year, Marks & Spencer announced 17 store closures putting over 1,000 jobs at risk.

Which stores are closing? You can check whether your local M&S is for the chop.
