The August bank holiday weekend is finally upon us, giving most Brits three days off work to round off the summer. If you’re getting all of your bank holiday essentials, whether it be burgers or booze, you will need to make note of the adjusted supermarket opening hours over the long weekend.

So whether you spend your long weekend enjoying a barbecue in the sun or sat inside with a delicious Sunday roast, you may need a trip to the shops first.

Unfortunately, with the long weekend comes reduced supermarket opening hours.

So when is Morrisons open this weekend? Express.co.uk brings you a simple guide as to what time the supermarket is open this bank holiday.

Is Morrisons open on the bank holiday?

Most Morrisons stores will also be open on Bank Holiday Monday, though bigger stores will have reduced opening hours.

Normal Monday opening times are 7am to 10pm.

These times can vary from store to store, so make sure you double check your local branch opening times on the store locator.

Stores will be open as usual on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

You can check the opening hours of your local Morrisons using the store locator HERE.

The same rules do not apply in Scotland as they do not have a bank holiday on the 31st.

While you are picking up your shopping, you can also take advantage of a new offer on petrol that is being rolled out nationwide.

A new deal has been launched to help drivers get back on the road after lockdown and the incentive is available to everybody who tops up at any UK petrol station.

The £10 deal will be welcomed by drivers in the run up to and across the August Bank Holiday with staycations very much on the agenda after lockdown in the UK.

Next time you top up at your local petrol station there is a benefit to keeping hold of the receipt because one online deals site is promising to pay every customer £10 in cash back for any fuel top-up.

The deal works with receipts from all of the major supermarket petrol forecourts including Morrisons, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda and the Co-operative, as well as Esso, BP, Texaco, Gulf, Total, Jet, Murco and Shell.

Topcashback says those who keep hold of their receipt and have never used the site before can join here and upload the receipt.

Once uploaded Topcashback will pay drivers £10 in cash back on a minimum spend of £10.

The site is free to join, so it’s essentially free money for those who take the deal.

The site is promising to give £10 to the first 10,000 drivers to upload their receipts as long as the photo contains the date and time of the purchase and the petrol station name.

The cashback offer runs from August 24 until September 6 and vehicles will need to be topped up before the end date to qualify.
