Morrisons cuts price of hundreds of products by 20% in fresh supermarket price war

The supermarket says the discounts will be highlighted as a "Price Crunch" and will typically be on offer for a minimum of twelve weeks.

The offers will be available in all 494 stores as well as online. You can use Morrisons' store locator tool to find your nearest shop.

Discounted items include store cupboard favourites such as tinned tomatoes, cereal, sandwich fillers, kids’ lunchbox snacks, ready meals and multivitamins.

Some items, such as Napolina Chopped Tomatos (400g) will see prices cut by a mammoth 50 per cent.

But just because Morrisons has cut prices doesn't mean it's going to be the cheapest supermarket for your shop.

Morrisons says it's introducing the price cuts as customers have told it that saving money in January is important to them as Christmas credit card bills land and cupboards are re-stocked with healthy food and winter warmers.

Group customer and marketing director at Morrisons, Andy Atkinson, said: “We’re listening to customers who are telling us that their budgets will be stretched in January.

"So we are cutting every penny we can on the essentials that will help them feed their families.”

Of course,

Morrisons baffled shoppers last week with its new UNICORN Bernard Matthews turkey slices.

It's also selling a Scotch egg PIE for £3, which sounds delicious.
