Guess he called his number…

Earlier this year we reported that Fanatics mogul and 76ers partner Michael Rubin played a wild birthday prank on hospitality guru Will Makris — by posting a giant billboard in Manhattan with Makris’ image and cell phone number, that said “Today’s my 40th and I am lonely. CALL ME.”

But at a recent Sixers playoff game, Rubin was courtside with Makris, as well as rapper Meek Mill, Patriots owner Robert Kraft, and fellow Sixers owners Josh Harris and David Blitzer, according to social media images.

Also courtside were Giants legend Tiki Barber, director M. Night Shyamalan, real estate honcho David Adelman and p.r. whiz Ron Berkowitz.

Said a source at the game: “New York isn’t the only spot where fans are excited to be back. Sports is helping cities get back to normal, and with the NBA playoffs in full swing.” The Sixers are up 2-0 in the series against the Washington Wizards.

Some fans attending the NBA playoffs, however, have been getting a little too wild. One was ejected from the Sixers’ last game for tossing popcorn at opposing player Russell Westbrook, while a Knicks fan was banned from future Madison Square Garden games for allegedly spitting at Trae Young of the Hawks, nearby an unwitting 50 Cent. The Knicks are down in their series, but could potentially face Philly in the next round.

Rubin, Meek and Kraft formed the Reform Alliance with Jay Z in 2019, to lobby to change probation and parole laws.

Back in February, Rubin revealed he was the prankster behind the mischievous Chelsea ad by posting a shot of the billboard for Makris on Instagram with the caption: “Wanted to give my brother [Makris] a 40th bday present he’d never forget!!! This is an actual billboard on 26th and 11th in NYC…. thought he was feeling lonely today and needed a lot of love. Ps make sure everyone calls him so he doesn’t feel 40 and unloved!”

Makris told us at the time that he first learned of the city billboard when, “I woke up… and I guess they were putting it up. People started sending pictures to me, being like, ‘Happy birthday, hope you’re not alone.’ Complete strangers.”

Makris is a hospitality exec behind high-end hotspots Zero Bond and Lola Taverna downtown.
