Meghan and Harry’s giant Christmas tree unveiled at Kensington Palace
Last week we learnt that the Queen had put up her Christmas decorations at Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palace to kick off the yuletide season.
Her spectacular display features a 23ft fir tree which is wrapped in around 7,000 lights and adorned with crown and carriage shaped baubles.
Following on from this, we now know that Christmas has also arrived at Kensington Palace, the official residence of Prince Harry, Meghan Markle, Kate Middleton and Prince William.
This is because a spectacular 30ft Christmas tree has been unveiled in the grounds in front of the palace.
The giant tree has been covered in glittering lights and giant golden baubles to mark the festive season.
Historic Royal Palaces share a video of the tree being put up and decorated on Twitter last week, which has amassed over 17,000 views.
The tree will be lit up throughout December and is the centrepiece of the palace’s decorations.
Visitors to the historic site over the next few weeks will be able to get a glimpse of the tree as well as get involved in various festive events taking place, including crafts sessions and an interactive talk on how the Victorians shaped Christmas.
This will be the first Christmas Harry and Meghan will spend as a married couple at Kensington Palace – and possibly the last.
The pair, who are expecting their first child in Spring 2019, are set to move out of the palace and into Frogmore Cottage in Windsor.
The 10 bedroom property sits about half a mile south of Windsor Castle, where they were married, in the north of Frogmore House Estate.
News of this relocation comes at the same time as rumours of a ‘feud’ between the Duchess of Sussex and the Duchess of Cambridge.
The two women are said to have had disagreements ahead of the royal wedding.
But some believe the heart of the problem lies in Harry and William’s strained bond.
Harry, 34, is believed to have accused his brother of trying to ruin his relationship with 37-year-old Meghan.
