Megan Mullally bought her SAG Awards dress online
Designers weren’t interested in dressing Megan Mullally for her Screen Actors Guild Awards hosting gig — so the star bought her own look online instead.
“I always pick out clothes online and buy my own stuff because … first of all, I like it because I can just wear what I want to wear, but also the major designers are not interested in sending me any dresses,” the “Will and Grace” star, 60, explained to “Access Hollywood” on the SAG Awards red carpet on Sunday.
Continued Mullally: “I said I am literally hosting. There is a 100 percent chance that I will be on camera. But people were like, ‘No, no thanks.’”
Alexander McQueen was one of the few fashion houses willing to send some options Mullally’s way — but since they “didn’t work out,” according to the actress, she chose and purchased another McQueen look online.
“I think it’s interesting for people to know that, because I think everybody in the general public thinks everybody is getting dresses thrown at them left and right, but that’s not actually the case,” Mullally said.
Back in December, the actress lamented her lack of options for the SAG Awards on Instagram. “Looks like I will be buying my dress online though, as per my usual, even though there is literally a 100 percent chance that I will be on camera, because I’M HOSTING IT,” Mullally wrote. “Designers do not send me dresses.”
Christian Siriano — who’s famous for stepping in to dress stars other brands won’t — swiftly stepped in to offer his services, but it seems Mullally decided to go in a different direction in the end.
