Many of us are currently having to juggle childcare with working from home, which is no small feat.

But recently a controversial, and wholly optimistic, list of age-appropriate chores has been doing the rounds on Facebook after being posted on the group Family Lockdown Tips & Ideas.

The list was divided by ages, and has been subject to both disbelief and ridicule by social media users.

As for 12 year olds, apparently they are old enough to trim hedges, cook a complete dinner and watch their younger siblings.

One person commented on the image, writing: “If I asked my 12-year-old to follow this, she’d end up fingerless from trimming the hedge, with first degree burns from ironing."

While a fourth wrote: “My husband doesn’t even do 99 per cent of these jobs!”
