Joe Swash has been ruthlessly mocked by Good Morning Britain viewers after making a hilarious gaffe in Friday’s episode.

The actor turned TV presenter, 32, mispronounced the Prince of Wales’s name several times, referring to him as ‘Prince Chiles’.

Joe, who is in a relationship with fellow presenter Stacey Solomon, attended the same tea party as the royal at Dumfries House in East Ayrshire yesterday, but still hadn’t got the hang of his name.

The mistake left Good Morning Britain viewers in stitches, with one saying: ‘Who the hell is Prince Chiles?’

Joe was appearing from a live link from Scotland to the London studios when he made the gaffe.

It started off badly as he mistakenly said that Dumfries House belonged to the Duke of Cambridge, 36, instead of his father, 70.

Joe said: ‘Ten years ago it got itself a brand new owner, Prince William… no not Prince William! Prince Chiles, sorry Prince Chiles! Prince Chiles. 

‘And he’s been heavily involved in the community. One project being loneliness and isolation, so throughout the year Prince Chiles puts on a tea party here at the House, and all the old people come down and have a good old knees up.’

And the slip ups didn’t stop there, as Joe continued to refer to the royal as the wrong name at the party.

Speaking to one guest, he said: ‘Was you more taken aback by me than Prince Chiles?’

Many GMB viewers took to Twitter to question how Joe managed to get Charles’s name wrong.

‘Wtf did #JoeSwash just say who the hell is Prince Chile’s  #GMB [sic],’ another posted.

A third said: ‘Oi Joe … Who the hell is Prince Chiles??? … All those talented tv presenters out there & they choose this horror show.’

Yesterday the Prince of Wales surprised hundreds of guests when he dropped into the tea dance.

The event is held every three weeks at Dumfries House and aims to help counter loneliness and social isolation, particularly among older members of the local community and adults with additional support needs.

Charles, who is known as the Duke of Rothesay in Scotland, chatted to guests who had enjoyed a Christmas lunch at the festive event.
