Jennifer Lopez Channels Marilyn Monroe (and Björk) in Ballerina-Chic Minidress

It’s the most wonderful time of the year: Jennifer Lopez is making the press rounds.

The Second Act star appeared on Tuesday night’s episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon wearing a flouncy plunging white tulle gown that was something of a cross-over between Bjork’s now-iconic Oscars swan dress and Marilyn Monroe’s Seven Year Itch halter gown.

Lopez paired the Saiid Kobeisy LWD (Little White Dress) with a set of strappy platform stilettos (shop a similar look here), a matching silver waist-belt, dangling diamond earrings, and a glam tennis bracelet. Complementing the ballerina-chic ensemble, J. Lo wore her honey-hued locks in a half-ponytail and kept her makeup understated with a nude lip and signature smoky eye.

Toward the end of her appearance, Fallon introduced a surprise guest: Lopez’s Second Act co-star (and love interest) Milo Ventimiglia.

During an exclusive conversation with InStyle, the This Is Us patriarch opened up about working with Lopez, revealing that he signed on to the project at the multi-hyphenate’s insistence. “It’s very easy for me to say yes when someone I admire is asking me to come on board a project they’re working on,” Ventimiglia shared.

The actor was (admitted This Is Us stan) Jen’s first choice for the role, but the fandom was hardly a one-way street. Milo told us he’s “always” been a fan of Lopez (“of her professionally, of her personally”). “What I’ve seen through her work is someone who’s been responsible with the impact she’s made on people’s lives. And working with her myself I really saw that.”

Despite his admiration of Lopez’s work-ethic, Ventimiglia says his favorite moments on-set were between takes. “I understood how hard she works and she understood how hard I work, so there were a lot of moments where we both knew there was comfort in not having to perform for each other, and we could just kind of exist as co-workers, and those are oftentimes the moments that a lot of people just brush past, but for me I think they might’ve been the most impactful. We both get to take a break while we’re in the company of each other.”
