Maura Higgins has kicked off what promises to be a week of birthday celebrations escaping the UK for the Maldives.

The Love Island star has jetted off with two pals to the exotic holiday location to mark her 31 st birthday.

Maura shared a snap of herself aboard the flight relaxing in the First Class cabin dressed in head to toe designer labels.

The TV star sported Louis Vuitton sliders, teamed with a Balenciaga jumper accessorised with a Prada backpack and Cartier bangles.

Fellow Love Islander Molly Mae Hague was among the first to comment, writing under the snap that she was ‘so jealous’ and reminding her friend to ‘enjoy my prin’.

Joining the TV star on the holiday is fellow former Love Island star, Lucie Rose Donlan who has also shared photos from the luxury trip.

The pair are staying at the Sun Siyam Iru Veli beach resort which describes itself as a ‘private pool paradise for indulgent escapes’.

Maura has a lot to celebrate at the moment after also recently signing a big bucks deal with Elite Model Management and its sister agency EWG Management in New York and LA.

Maura said: "I'm so excited. Working in TV alongside modelling has always been one of my biggest passions."

A spokesman for Elite added: "We're thrilled to sign Maura."

The star is expected to make her fashion debut at next week’s London Fashion Week.

Maura is currently single having recently split from Strictly Come Dancing professional Giovanni Pernice.

Maura is yet to address the pair going their separate ways, but Giovanni spoke about it and insisted that there was ‘no wrongdoing’ from either parties.

He wrote on Instagram in October: “Great relationships with great people can come to a natural end, this has been the case for me recently.

"There was absolutely no wrong-doing and this should be the end of any speculation."
