I love languages so it’s a natural subject for me, but the issue is that I have developed a really strong stutter.
Since becoming a teenager it has become worse and I get stuck on certain words for a painfully long time.
I’m not sure I can deal with the pressure of meeting lots of new people.

DEIDRE SAYS: I under-stand your hesitation but this need not hold you back. Visit The British Stammering Association website, which has plenty of advice (stamma.org).
Also have a look at stambassadors.org. It has lots of videos of successful people who also happen to have stammers.
Don’t let your stammer beat you. After all, Ed Balls, Ed Sheeran, Marilyn Monroe and Joe Biden all had stammers.
